Midnight Miracles: First Utah Babies of 2024 Born

As the clock struck midnight ushering in the New Year, Utah hospitals witnessed the joyous arrival of some of the state's first newborns of 2024. Two babies vied for the title of being the first born in Utah, one at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and another at St. Mark's Hospital in Millcreek. Families expressed their delight at welcoming their new members. Amidst joy and unexpected challenges, these births marked a hopeful beginning to the year, symbolizing new life and possibilities.

Mysterious Death: Investigation Underway After Man Dies Inside Plane Engine

A tragic incident occurred at Salt Lake City International Airport on New Year's Day, where a 30-year-old man was found dead inside the wing-mounted engine of a commercial aircraft. The man reportedly accessed an airport deicing pad and entered the engine covering. Police reports suggest the engines were not running when the man entered. The incident escalated after a store manager reported a disturbance involving a passenger in a secured airport area. The man was later found unconscious inside the engine and pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency crews' efforts. The passengers were subsequently removed from the aircraft, and the police are collaborating with the medical examiner to identify the man and the cause of death. The police have announced that no further details will be released at this time.

Farmington City - January 13th 2024

To take advantage of this service, here's what you need to do:

* Place trees on the curb by 6:00 a.m. on January 13th
* Crews will pass through neighborhoods once
* Cut trees into 6-foot lengths
* Clear snow away so that trees are on the surface and visible

Collected trees are used to make mulch. Flocked trees cannot be used and will not be picked up.

Bountiful City - January 8th - 19th

• Note that this is not necessarily on your garbage day.

• Remove ALL decorations

• Place laying down on your park strip or curb

West Bountiful City - January 3rd & 4th on your scheduled trash pick-up day.

Centerville City - January 6th

Place christmas trees by the curb January 5th for a January 6th pick up. Please remove all decorations.

Multi-date Events:

January 2, 3: ($25 per person per day)

Winter Recreation - Home Alone, Harry Potter and Mad Science
9:00 am - 12 pm Class will begin promptly at 9:00 AM and ends at 12:00 PM (Noon). Lunch and snack will be provided each day.

Davis Count Adult Education Classes for Winter 2024

Davis County's Adult Education program is set to begin its new session in mid-to-late January, offering a rich variety of classes including health and wellness topics like microgreens cultivation, sleep improvement, overcoming mental health challenges, and herbalism. The initiative aims to foster community learning and personal growth with courses available for all ages, including ACT Prep and special winter classes. Enthusiastic local experts will lead the sessions, encouraging residents to embrace lifelong learning and self-improvement.
