โจ Why We Spotlight Local Businesses
At the Bountiful Buzz, we believe strong communities are built by supporting the amazing businesses right here at home. Shopping local keeps dollars in our community, creates local jobs, and helps our neighborhoods thrive. Our Local Spotlights are just one way we love helping you discover (and support!) the incredible businesses that make our area so special. ๐๐ ๐ Request a Spotlight

๐ Pickleball Kingdom Heads to Woods Cross
Pickleball Kingdom announced plans to open its first Utah location in Woods Cross at 2250 S 850 W. The massive indoor facility will feature 10 pro-grade courts inside a nearly 28,000-square-foot space, with an opening planned for winter 2026/2027. Former Real Salt Lake teammates Andrew Brody and Justen Glad are part of the local ownership group leading the project.
Why It Matters: South Davis residents will soon have a year-round indoor pickleball option for leagues, lessons, tournaments, and community events right here in Woods Cross. ๐ More Details
๐ฅซ Bountiful Food Drive Returns This Weekend
Bountiful residents should have received a postcard and food donation bag in their mailbox as part of the annual letter carriersโ food drive benefiting the Bountiful Food Pantry. Community members are encouraged to leave nonperishable food donations near their mailbox, where local letter carriers will collect and deliver them directly to the pantry.
According to local postal workers, Bountiful consistently shows strong participation in the drive each year, helping stock shelves for families in need across the community.
Why It Matters: This is one of the easiest ways for local families to support neighbors facing food insecurity right here in South Davis County.

๐ณ New Interactive Map Helps Utah Families Find the Perfect Park
A Utah woman has officially visited all 511 parks across Salt Lake County โ and turned her experience into a searchable public park map. Ali Vallarta spent nearly two years exploring parks of every size, from major destinations like Liberty Park to neighborhood โpocket parks,โ collecting details on playgrounds, splash pads, dog areas, bathrooms, and more.
The project comes as Salt Lake Cityโs new Glendale Regional Park is already drawing families excited for more outdoor recreation options close to home. Vallarta says the goal is simple: help Utah families quickly find parks that match their needs without driving all over the valley searching.
Why It Matters: South Davis families regularly travel into Salt Lake County for parks and recreation, and this tool could make it much easier to discover safe, family-friendly spots for summer outings. ๐ See Map

๐ Bountiful Boys Volleyball Captures First 5A State Title
It was a hard-fought championship battle Thursday night as Bountiful faced Wasatch in the 5A Boys Volleyball State Championship โ and the Redhawks came out on top. Bountiful won the opening set, Wasatch answered in the second, but the Redhawks battled through two tight final sets to secure the 3-1 championship victory. The win marks a huge milestone for a program that has spent the last several seasons building toward this moment.
Head Coach Sarah Chism led the team alongside assistant coaches Hayden Hamblin, Colby Burleson, and Evalyn Chism as Bountiful capped off an impressive season with the schoolโs first boys volleyball state title.
Why It Matters: This championship is a proud moment for Bountiful athletics and highlights the growth of boys volleyball across South Davis County.
