Centerville Expands Pickleball Parking, Sparks Broader Community Discussion

Centerville City is adding 65 parking spaces to the west side of its pickleball complex to address increasing demand. The announcement sparked community discussion, with residents calling for additional amenities such as a dog park, better bike parking, and even a city cemetery. City officials encouraged residents to attend city council meetings to advocate for their concerns.

After a senior dog in Utah was left with a serious gash from a grooming session, local area residents are speaking out about their own unsettling experiences. Many have taken to social media, sharing stories of pets returning from groomers with cuts, bleeding nails, or even needing emergency vet care.

The concern centers on the fact that in Utah, dog groomers aren't required to have formal training or a license, raising fears about unqualified individuals working with sharp tools around pets.

Experienced groomers in the area have weighed in, acknowledging that accidents can happen, especially with older or matted dogs, but stress that proper technique and animal awareness are key to preventing injury.

Locals are now urging fellow pet owners to seek out reputable groomers—often through vet referrals or trusted word-of-mouth—and calling for more regulation to protect both pets and owners.

🌟 Utah Family Celebrates Autism Awareness Month by Giving Back to Life-Changing Program 🌟

As April brings Autism Awareness Month into full swing, one local family is celebrating in the most heartfelt way—by shining a light on a program that’s made all the difference in their lives and inviting the community to be part of something truly special.

Meet Bridger, a bright and resilient little boy whose journey with autism has been filled with love, learning, and incredible growth. Thanks to the support of the Northern Utah Autism Program (NUAP), Bridger has found a nurturing space to thrive. NUAP is a nonprofit, research-based program that serves children ages 3 to 5 across the Davis and Weber school districts. The program focuses on early intervention and provides services and tools uniquely tailored for children with autism—resources that go far beyond what traditional early education settings can offer.

For Bridger and his family, NUAP has been nothing short of life-changing. From classroom supplies that meet sensory and behavioral needs to parent training sessions and engaging field trips, every piece of support helps create a meaningful difference in the lives of these young children.

But here’s the amazing part: NUAP runs entirely on funds raised by parents and community supporters. That’s right—every dollar donated goes straight back into the program, helping it continue to serve families just like Bridger’s.

To help keep this incredible momentum going, Bridger’s family is organizing a Golf Tournament Fundraiser this fall at Ogden Golf & Country Club (4197 S. Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT). The event promises a fun-filled day with breakfast, lunch, prizes, raffles, giveaways, and over 150 attendees expected to join in on the action—all to benefit NUAP.

The community is warmly invited to take part by sponsoring the event, donating items for the silent auction and raffle, or simply spreading the word. Every contribution, big or small, is tax-deductible and directly supports the vital work NUAP does for local children with autism.
