🎆 Bonneville Salt Flats Lights Up with Fourth of July Fun

While many Utahns looked for ways to celebrate the Fourth of July, hundreds headed to the Bonneville Salt Flats for an unforgettable night under the stars. One attendee described the five-hour fireworks celebration as a 360-degree spectacle, with families and friends enjoying the wide-open space and calling it one of the best holiday experiences they've ever had.

The Bonneville Salt Flats remain one of Utah's most iconic destinations, and for many South Davis residents, it's a memorable holiday road trip that showcases the state's unique landscapes and community spirit.

🚓 Davis County Citizen Police Academy Accepting Applications for 2026

Ever wondered what really happens behind the scenes in local law enforcement? The Davis County Citizen Police Academy is now accepting applications for its 15-week program, giving residents a hands-on look at policing, first responders, and the justice system. Classes begin Thursday, August 6, meet Thursdays from 6–9 PM, and cost $25, which includes a t-shirt. Participating agencies include Bountiful, North Salt Lake, West Bountiful, Centerville, Farmington, and other Davis County departments.
This is a unique opportunity for South Davis residents to better understand the work of their local police departments and build stronger community relationships.

🥾 North Salt Lake's Summer Trail Series Continues with Wild Rose Trail Night Hike

Grab your flashlight and hit the trail! North Salt Lake's Summer Trail Series returns Friday, July 17 at 8 PM with a guided evening hike on the Wild Rose Trail, led by members of the City's Trails Committee. Participants can also earn Trail Series stickers throughout the summer, with a prize for completing all four hikes.

It's a fun, free way for North Salt Lake residents to enjoy local trails, connect with neighbors, and explore the outdoors this summer.

🔥 Wildfires Trigger Closures Across Utah

Utah's wildfire season continues to intensify, with 404 fires burning more than 346,000 acresstatewide. Several major fires—including the Cottonwood, Babylon, Cherry, and Wild Goose fires—have led to road closures, campground evacuations, and restrictions on public lands in southern and central Utah. Fire crews continue to battle the blazes while officials urge residents to stay out of closed areas. (KSL.com)

Future Braves cheerleaders are invited to join the Bountiful High cheer squad for the ultimate Mini Cheer experience! Campers will learn crowd-leading skills, perform a fun dance with poms, cheer alongside the BHS team, and take the field for a halftime performance.
