Evening Power Outage Affects Thousands in Salt Lake and Davis Counties
Thousands of residents in Salt Lake and Davis counties experienced a significant power outage on Sunday. Rocky Mountain Power reported over 6,200 customers affected, with the Taylorsville area alone accounting for more than 3,566 of these outages, which began just after 5:30 p.m. The outage affected multiple zip codes including 84129, 84119, and 84123. Power was restored in Taylorsville around 7:15 p.m. Meanwhile, in Davis County, a separate outage affected 2,380 customers around 1000 West and State Route 193 in Clearfield, triggered by a pole fire. The outage in this area, impacting the 84015 zip code, was expected to be resolved by 1 a.m

A New Haven for Young Talents: Seacrest Studio Launches at Primary Children's Hospital
The Seacrest Studio, opened by Ryan Seacrest at Primary Children's Hospital, is the latest addition to the network of studios created by the Ryan Seacrest Foundation. Designed as an entertainment and creative space in the hospital lobby, it empowers young patients and their caregivers to engage in producing and broadcasting content. This initiative has transformed the hospital experience for children, making them look forward to their treatments and allowing them to connect with others in similar situations across various hospitals.
🏆Inspiring Journey: Audri Ence's Transition to Teaching Earns Recognition and Scholarship
Audri Ence, a student teacher at West Bountiful Elementary, received a $500 scholarship from the Davis School District for her exceptional dedication to education. She returned to college for an elementary education degree, balancing work and intensive study. Ence successfully completed her student teaching, teaching 107 second graders and earning a substitute teacher position. Renowned for her ability to connect with students and team members, Ence's story highlights her commitment to education and her goal to be a valuable asset in the teaching community.


🏀High School Basketball Standout: Paul Beattie's Exceptional Week at Farmington
Paul Beattie, a senior at Farmington High School, has been making remarkable strides in his basketball career. As a forward on the school team, Beattie showcased exceptional talent in recent games, contributing significantly to his team's victories. In a week, he averaged an impressive 21.5 points and 14 rebounds per game. Notably, in a game against Bonneville, Beattie scored 27 points, successfully making 11 of 16 shots. His performance was equally strong against Maple Mountain, where he scored 16 points and secured 16 rebounds. Beattie's achievements highlight his skill and dedication as a player, making him a standout athlete at Farmington High.

The Community Social Club is conducting "The Giving Tree" project for Christmas to provide gifts and a joyful experience to individuals with disabilities and families in need.
