Rockin E Store Bounces Back with Big Savings After Road Project Ends
After enduring six months of prolonged road construction, the Rockin E Country Store & Garden Center is finally ready to welcome customers back with open arms—and major savings. What was initially planned as a two-month project dragged on for half a year, creating significant challenges for the locally owned business.
With the road now clear and business picking up again, the store is marking the occasion by hosting a special three-day sales event from August 21–23. Dubbed “Cash Days,” the promotion offers customers deep discounts across a variety of departments, with even steeper savings for those who pay with cash.
Highlights include 30% off all trees, shrubs, and perennials—or 40% off if paid in cash. Shoppers can also snag a buy-one-get-one-free deal on remaining clothing (excluding boots), plus discounts on home décor, animal feed, bagged soils, select garden chemicals, and houseplants.
The celebration is a thank-you to the community for sticking with them through the difficult months and a call for support as they look forward to brighter days ahead.

New Bountiful Elementary Welcomes Students on First Day of School
Bountiful Elementary students are starting the school year today in a brand-new building, replacing the original 1950 structure. The new 90,000-square-foot facility on a nine-acre site was unveiled earlier this week during a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Designed with nature-themed interiors, the school can accommodate 900 students. District leaders celebrated the school’s role in uniting generations and serving as a community hub as students begin a new chapter in a modern space filled with tradition and promise.

Time to Reset: Helping Kids Get Back on a School Sleep Schedule
With the school year starting today, many children are facing early mornings after a summer of late nights. Utah experts advise families to start enforcing consistent sleep routines now, with early bedtimes, screen-free evenings, and regular wake-up times. Quality sleep is essential for students’ focus, health, and emotional balance as they return to class.

🏈 Bountiful Stumbles in Season Opener With 28-14 Loss to Herriman
Bountiful’s football season didn’t open as planned Friday night, as the Redhawks dropped their home opener 28-14 to Herriman in a surprising result that raised early questions about the team’s execution.
Coming into the matchup as favorites, Bountiful struggled to match Herriman’s pace from the outset. The Redhawks fell behind early and trailed 14-0 after the first quarter, hampered by stalled drives and missed opportunities to respond.
Despite a brief momentum shift before halftime, Bountiful couldn't capitalize in the second half. Turnovers and defensive breakdowns allowed Herriman to add two more touchdowns while the Redhawks' offense sputtered.
While it’s just Week 1, the loss serves as a wake-up call for Bountiful, which had high hopes heading into the season. With talent on the roster and plenty of games ahead, the Redhawks will look to regroup quickly before facing a challenging stretch in the schedule.
