😸 Davis County Promotes Trap-Neuter-Return for Community Cats
Animal Care of Davis County is reminding residents that not all cats are suited for indoor life. Through its Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, community cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, and returned to their outdoor homes to help prevent unexpected litters. The agency also offers guidance for humane deterrence and assistance for neighborhoods managing outdoor cat populations.
Why It Matters:
For South Davis neighborhoods, TNR helps reduce stray kitten numbers, ease shelter overcrowding, and keep community cat populations stable.
⚠️ Bountiful City Warns Residents About Scam Letters
Bountiful City officials say scammers are using city letterhead, names, and even public agenda details to trick residents into sending money. If you receive an unexpected bill or payment request, the city urges you to call the department directly using contact information listed on the official city website. The city also reminds residents it will never ask for payment by wire transfer.
Why It Matters:
Scam attempts are getting more sophisticated — and verifying before you pay can protect your wallet and personal information.
🚗 Rollover Crash on Legacy in Centerville
South Davis Metro Fire responded to a rollover crash on northbound Legacy Parkway just before Parrish Lane in Centerville. Company 85 stabilized the vehicle and safely extricated the patient. The individual was treated on scene and released, with no hospital transport reported.
Why It Matters:
Even light snow can create slick conditions — especially on Legacy — so this is a timely reminder for South Davis drivers to slow down and give themselves extra space.
🏀 Woods Cross Advances in 5A Tourney
No. 11 Woods Cross High School powered past No. 22 Northridge High School 67-49 in the first round of the Class 5A state tournament. A dominant 20-9 second quarter gave the Wildcats control early. Bryson Watson led the way with 20 points and five 3-pointers, while Elliot Bendinger added 17.
Why It Matters:
Woods Cross keeps its postseason run alive and will now face No. 6 Cyprus High School in the second round.
