Hopebox Theatre Marks 10 Years of Supporting Cancer Patients Through the Arts

Hopebox Theatre in Kaysville is celebrating 10 years of supporting families affected by cancer through performing arts. Since its founding in 2014, the nonprofit has raised significant funds for cancer patients, dedicating each show to a "Wall of Hope" recipient. The theater fosters a supportive community while providing financial and emotional aid. Special anniversary events are planned as Hopebox continues its mission of bringing hope and healing through the arts.

West Bountiful Police Seek Owner of Car Parts After Stop Sign Crash

West Bountiful police are searching for the owner of a Chevrolet Traverse that left behind vehicle parts after a collision with a stop sign. The incident, which likely occurred recently, resulted in debris being left at the scene.

Authorities believe the vehicle is a 2010-2015 model and may have noticeable damage. Officers are hoping to locate the driver or owner to address the situation and return the missing pieces.

Scam Alert: Fake Parking Fine Texts Targeting Residents

Residents are being warned about a new text message scam claiming they owe an unpaid parking fine in Salt Lake City. One recipient reported receiving a message demanding payment, despite never parking in the city. Upon closer inspection, the number was traced to Canada, raising further suspicion.

A quick check on Salt Lake City's official website confirmed the message was fraudulent. Officials urge people not to respond to such texts or click on any links, as these scams often aim to steal personal or financial information.

If you receive a similar message, ignore it and report the scam to local authorities. Always verify parking fines or other official claims through trusted sources before taking action.

Man Shot, Killed by Police After Barricading Himself in Layton Apartment

A man was shot and killed by police early Tuesday after barricading himself inside a Layton apartment and firing a gun. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and attempted negotiations, but the situation escalated into a standoff. A SWAT team was called in, and after a confrontation, police shot the suspect. No officers were injured, and an investigation is ongoing.
