Davis County Residents Urged to Sign Up for Emergency Alerts

Davis County is offering its residents and businesses access to critical emergency notifications through the Everbridge mass notification system. By registering, users will receive alerts about potential dangers such as natural disasters, severe weather, and man-made threats. The system allows you to choose how you'd like to be contacted, whether through text messages, emails, or phone calls.

Signing up for these systems ensures that you stay informed and prepared for any emergency situation in your area.

Fuel Tank Removal Causes Strong Odor on Main St., Hazmat Declares Area Safe

The Centerville Police Department has shared news about a longstanding establishment on Main Street that has closed. As part of the closure, fuel tanks were removed from the property, resulting in a noticeable smell of gas in the area. Although the odor of fuel was strong, hazmat crews from the SDMF team responded quickly and confirmed there is no danger to the community. While the situation is under control, residents may continue to notice the smell until the soil is fully cleaned and the site is cleared.

Electric Scooter Crash Claims Life at Salt Lake Community College

A man was killed in a scooter accident on the Salt Lake Community College campus in Taylorsville on Wednesday night. The individual, riding an electric scooter, collided with a light pole near the west side of the campus. The Utah Highway Patrol confirmed that no one else was involved in the incident. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name.

North Salt Lake Youth Council Organizes
Fall Clothing Drive

October 21 to 24 and October 28 to 29, The North Salt Lake Youth City Council (NSLYCC) is hosting a Fall Clothing Drive to help those in need as colder weather approaches. Residents can drop off gently used or new winter clothing at City Hall, 10 East Center St., North Salt Lake. Items such as coats, scarves, gloves, and general clothing for all ages are welcome. Join the youth council in supporting the community by donating essential winter items to keep families warm this season.

Spread Warmth & Joy for National Spina Bifida Day! 

🧸✨ On October 25th, let's make a difference together! A local community member, inspired by her own childhood experiences, is gathering donations of blankets, new books, or toys to bring comfort to kids in the hospital for Spina Bifida awareness. Your help can bring a smile to a child’s face!
