Six-Vehicle Crash in Farmington Causes Morning Traffic Delays

A six-vehicle crash in a construction zone on southbound I-15 in Farmington caused delays for Davis County commuters Thursday morning.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the crash occurred during rainy conditions, with standing water on the roadway. Traffic had slowed when a flatbed tow truck rear-ended a Toyota Corolla and a Jeep Compass. The chain reaction continued as a Dodge Ram struck the tow truck, followed by a box truck colliding with the Ram. Finally, a semi-truck rear-ended the box truck, adding to the pileup.

Three people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities cited speed and following too closely for the conditions as factors in the crash.

Lunch, Auction & More: Local Fundraiser to Aid Service Dogs

A fundraiser supporting service dogs is scheduled for March 8 at 11:30 A.M. at the Bountiful Masonic Temple (143 W 1000 N. Bountiful). The event will kick off with a lunch available for a small fee, followed by an informative presentation by The Malinois Foundation, an organization that provides service dogs to veterans, first responders, women survivors, and children with medical needs.

Attendees will have the opportunity to support the cause by purchasing handmade leather goods, including key fobs and checkbook covers, crafted by WGM’s husband, Tim. Additionally, a silent auction will be held, featuring a variety of items. Proceeds from the event will help fund service dogs for those in need.

Suspicious Package at Salt Lake Airport Cargo Facility Deemed Safe

Authorities have determined that a package under investigation at a cargo facility near Salt Lake City International Airport posed no threat.

The Salt Lake City Police Department received a report about the package at the Delta cargo facility, which is separate from the main airport terminal. As a result, flight operations and passenger travel remained unaffected.

Out of caution, the department’s hazardous device unit responded to the scene to assess the package. After a thorough examination, officials confirmed there was no danger.

Before law enforcement arrived, employees at the facility evacuated as a precaution. Authorities later reassured the public that there was no threat to airport operations, employees, or travelers.
