South Davis Fire Adds E-Bikes to Boost Trail Rescue Efforts

South Davis Metro Fire Service Area has enhanced its emergency response tools with the addition of two new electric bikes. Designed to navigate challenging terrains where traditional emergency vehicles can't reach, the e-bikes are expected to significantly improve response times on local trails and remote areas.

These bikes, provided by outdoor e-bike company Bakcou, are part of an ongoing initiative to better equip first responders for off-road emergencies. The addition marks a continued partnership between South Davis Metro Fire and Bakcou, supporting efforts to ensure rapid and efficient access to accident victims in otherwise inaccessible locations.

U.S. Army Celebrates 250 Years of Service with Fort Douglas Event

The U.S. Army is celebrating its 250th anniversary on June 14, 2025. In honor of this milestone, American Legion Post 27 in Farmington is joining a day-long event at Historic Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City. The Army, formed in 1775 by the Second Continental Congress, remains a cornerstone of national defense with nearly one million service members today.The celebration runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features a variety of public activities that highlight the Army’s long-standing role in American history.

Utah Farm Lets You Cuddle Cows — And They Might Just Cuddle Back

In Spanish Fork, one farm is flipping the script on what cows are good for — and it’s not just milk or burgers. At Fold of Liberty Farms, you can now book a “cow cuddle” with a herd of ridiculously fluffy, surprisingly snuggly Scottish Highland cows.

It all started when Vernon Stout, a former online business owner turned first-time farmer, noticed people pulling over just to meet his photogenic cows. With some encouragement from his daughter Samantha, what began as impromptu pet-and-photo ops turned into a full-blown business. And yes, “cow cuddles” are exactly what they sound like: petting, brushing, feeding snacks, and quality one-on-one time with a cow.

The farm now boasts 25 Highland cuddle cows, known for their chill demeanor and camera-ready locks. Sessions run Fridays and Saturdays, and they’re in high demand — apparently, hugging a hairy cow is more therapeutic than it sounds.

Worried about hygiene or accidentally bonding with your next burger? Relax. The cuddle cows are clean, grass-fed, and not headed for the dinner table.

So, if you're looking for a way to unplug, de-stress, and get nudged by a jealous cow vying for attention — this might just be your kind of therapy.
