⭐Local Business Spotlight!
Kaylene's Ceramics

In the heart of Bountiful, a unique and vibrant business thrives, bringing creativity and joy to our community. Kaylene's Ceramics, a family-operated gem founded by Ralph and Kaylene Pace, has quickly become a beloved local hotspot for ceramic enthusiasts and beginners alike. Today, we're delighted to feature them in our Local Business Spotlight.

A Dream Turned Reality

The story of Kaylene's Ceramics began in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic when Ralph and Kaylene, driven by a newfound passion for ceramics, decided to transform their hobby into a thriving business. Starting with a single kiln and a collection of molds, they built a shed in their driveway, creating a sanctuary filled with over 1100 ready-to-paint ceramics. This husband-and-wife team's journey from ceramic enthusiasts to business owners is a testament to their dedication and love for their craft.

What Sets Kaylene's Ceramics Apart

Kaylene's Ceramics offers an experience unlike any other. With 3-4 times the selection of most ceramic shops, they provide an unparalleled array of choices for their customers. Their affordability is another hallmark, attributed to their innovative business model that eliminates the need for a traditional storefront and additional staff. This approach not only keeps prices reasonable but also ensures a warm, welcoming atmosphere where everyone can explore their creativity.

Community at the Heart

Ralph and Kaylene believe in giving back to the community that has embraced their business. For the past two years, they have participated in the local farmers market, bringing their passion for ceramics directly to the people in the Bountiful Area. Their commitment extends beyond sales, as they regularly visit assisted living centers, offering activities and donating items to enrich the lives of residents. Their involvement in these initiatives reflects their dedication to making a positive impact in the community.

Looking Ahead

Excitement bubbles at Kaylene's Ceramics as they embark on a project to catalog their extensive collection of 6000 molds. This ambitious endeavor will allow customers to browse and order from a vast selection of items, making the joy of ceramics accessible to even more people. With half of the molds already processed, the future looks bright for Kaylene's Ceramics and the community it serves.

Join the Creative Journey

Kaylene's Ceramics invites you to be part of their creative journey. Whether you're looking to explore your artistic side, find a unique gift, or simply enjoy a moment of peace through creativity, Ralph and Kaylene are ready to welcome you. Visit them at 278 East 1950 South, Bountiful, and discover the endless possibilities that await.

As Bountiful continues to grow and flourish, it's businesses like Kaylene's Ceramics that add color, warmth, and a sense of community to our local landscape. We're proud to spotlight them in this issue of Bountiful Buzz and encourage our readers to support this remarkable local business.

Firefighting Heroes Respond to North Salt Lake Emergency, Save Lives but Puppies Lost

A tragic incident occurred in North Salt Lake City when a fire erupted in the basement of a duplex, resulting in injuries to one individual and the death of nine puppies. Responding to the scene at around 5:30 p.m., emergency crews were able to extinguish the fire. The injured person, a male found inside the home at the time of the blaze, was transported to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and is now in stable condition. Despite efforts to save them, a litter of nine puppies found inside could not be resuscitated and perished in the fire. Additionally, a pet snake was also found in the premises but survived the incident. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed.

Critical Condition: Skier Plunges 100 Feet Off Cliff Near Snowbasin Resort

A 49-year-old man sustained critical injuries after skiing off a 100-foot cliff in the backcountry terrain near Snowbasin Resort. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the Mount Ogden Bowl area. Snowbasin Resort's ski patrol, upon receiving reports of an unresponsive guest, found the skier had ventured out of the resort boundaries into extreme terrain, resulting in a severe accident. The man was discovered on the John Paul ski run, where ski patrol and the Weber Fire District provided immediate medical assistance. He was subsequently airlifted to a local hospital in extremely critical condition, according to Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Colby Ryan.

High School Students Build Tiny Homes for Charity and Local Clients

High school students within the Davis School District are gaining practical experience by participating in a unique project at the Catalyst Center, a project-based alternative school. These students, hailing from various parts of the district, are dedicating their time to constructing tiny homes. This initiative is part of the school's broader curriculum that focuses on providing real-world experience through collaboration with local businesses. The construction department, in particular, is engaging students in the hands-on task of building these homes from scratch, offering a tangible product that will eventually serve the community. Some of these homes are destined for sale to local clients, while others will be donated to charities, aiming to provide housing solutions for the homeless.

🏀 BYU Climbs Higher in AP Top 25, Utah State on the Verge of Ranking

BYU's basketball team ascended two spots to number 19 in the latest AP Top 25 rankings following a victory over Kansas State, rebounding from a previous loss to Oklahoma. Utah State, despite a strong win over Boise State that positioned them first in the Mountain West, narrowly missed entering the top 25. Indiana State made headlines by ranking 23rd, marking its first entry since the era of Larry Bird. In women's basketball, Utah maintained its position in the top 25, while BYU celebrated individual honors within the Big 12 conference.
