🏨 New Marriott hotel breaks ground near 500 West

A groundbreaking ceremony was held Friday for a new TownePlace Suites by Marriott near the Culver’s on 500 West. The project calls for an 87-room hotel spanning about 52,402 square feet, with Mayor Kate Bradshaw and city council members attending the event. A new rendering also gives residents a first look at the development.

Why It Matters: This project could bring more visitors, more business activity, and noticeable changes to the 500 West area.

💩 Scoop the Poop, South Davis 🧼

Farmington Parks & Recreation is reminding residents across South Davis to clean up after their pets. Pet waste left on lawns, trails, and sidewalks can wash into storm drains and flow straight into local waterways—including creeks, ponds, and eventually the Great Salt Lake. Officials say the bacteria and nutrients in waste can harm wildlife, pollute water, and pose health risks.

Why It Matters: Keeping our neighborhoods clean isn’t just about appearance—it protects water quality and public health across Bountiful, Centerville, West Bountiful, and Farmington.

🌿 South Davis Greenway Survey Open

Cities across South Davis—including Bountiful, Centerville, North Salt Lake, and Farmington—are gathering input on a proposed regional “greenway” system. These paths are designed for walking, biking, and other non-motorized use, with a focus on safety, connectivity, and accessibility. Residents are invited to take a short survey to help shape how these routes look and function. 👉 Learn more & take survey.

Why It Matters: This project could directly impact how you commute, recreate, and connect between cities—so now’s the time to weigh in.

🥍 South Davis Lacrosse Roundup

Viewmont took down Layton 9–5 in a home matchup, while Bountiful had a big offensive night, beating East 17–10. The Redhawks were led by Carter Terry with an impressive 9 goals and 12 total points. Strong scoring depth helped Bountiful pull away after a tied first quarter.

Why It Matters: Local teams are heating up early in the season, giving fans plenty to be excited about as rivalry games ramp up.

🛍️ A Boutique Experience You Won’t Find
Anywhere Else

If you’ve ever strolled down Main Street in Bountiful and felt drawn into a beautifully curated shop full of unique finds—you’ve likely stepped into Touché.

Owned by Tamara England, Touché has been a beloved part of our community for nearly 14 years, offering a shopping experience that feels both elevated and personal. Think of it as a mini Anthropologie—but with a local heart and a whole lot more intention behind every item on the shelf.

From women’s clothing and jewelry to shoes, home goods, stationery, candles, bath & body care, and even gourmet candy… Touché is the kind of place where you walk in for one thing and leave with a handful of treasures you didn’t know you needed.

✨ Built on Passion (and a Leap of Faith)

Tamara’s journey into business ownership wasn’t your typical path—but it was meant to be.

With a background in marketing and public relations from Utah State University, she gained hands-on experience managing retail spaces before taking a bold leap in 2012 to open her own store. Originally planning for City Creek, she pivoted when she discovered Main Street in Bountiful—and it turned out to be the perfect fit.

What started as a boutique with one of the largest Vera Bradley selections in the state has evolved beautifully over the years. After expanding into the neighboring space in 2022, Touché now offers an even wider selection of clothing, jewelry, and shoes—while still maintaining its signature charm.

💛 What Makes Touché So Special

Two things truly set Touché apart:

1. Exceptional, personalized service
From complimentary gift wrapping to special orders and one-on-one shopping help, Tamara and her team go above and beyond to make every visit feel special.

2. A one-of-a-kind selection
You won’t find mass-produced, big-box items here. Every piece is thoughtfully chosen—many ordered months in advance—so when something catches your eye, you know it’s something unique.

And when it’s gone… it’s gone.

🤝 Deep Roots in the Community

Touché isn’t just a shop—it’s a true community partner.

Tamara and her team actively support local schools, teacher appreciation efforts, and senior events. They contribute to organizations like the Davis Education Foundation, CenterPoint Theater, and The Other Side Academy, and have supported Utah refugee efforts as well.

They’re also a familiar face at beloved local traditions—Main Street events, Chalk Art Festival, holiday activities, and more.

One especially meaningful contribution? Tamara helped fund the life-size Nativity displayed each December at the Bountiful Tabernacle—something her family continues to set up and maintain each year.
