Celebrate the Grand Opening of Sprouts in Bountiful This Weekend
Bountiful residents have a fresh reason to celebrate as Sprouts Farmers Market opens its doors at the corner of 500 South and 200 West. The grand opening weekend kicks off Friday, November 7, and continues through Sunday, November 9, offering special savings and a chance to explore the new store.
As part of the celebration, customers who sign up for Sprouts Rewards can enjoy 20% off their entire purchase throughout the weekend. The offer is exclusively available at the new Bountiful location.
Sprouts, known for its wide selection of fresh produce, natural and organic groceries, and health-focused products, invites the community to experience a new kind of neighborhood grocery shopping. More information is available at sprouts.com/bountiful.

Five Puppies and Malnourished Mother Recover After Shocking Highway Abandonment
A Davis County man faces felony charges after allegedly throwing six puppies out of a moving vehicle and abandoning their mother in a separate location. Two puppies died, but the remaining five have since been reunited with their recovering mother thanks to community efforts. The dogs are now in foster care and will be available for adoption once fully healthy. Authorities encourage struggling pet owners to seek help and ask anyone with more information to contact local officials.

Utah Cold Case Unit Reopens 2019 Death Mystery at Salt Lake Recycling Plant
Utah cold case investigators are reexamining the 2019 death of Mario Garcia, whose body was found at a Salt Lake City recycling facility. Originally discovered among materials from West Valley City, the case went cold due to a lack of leads. With a new cold case unit now reviewing nearly 40 unsolved cases, Garcia’s death is back in focus as detectives revisit evidence and pursue new avenues to determine what happened.

🏈 Woods Cross Grinds Out 13-6 Win Over Olympus to Reach Quarterfinals
Woods Cross punched its ticket to the 5A quarterfinals with a hard-fought 13-6 win over Olympus in a low-scoring playoff clash defined by strong defense and timely scoring. The Wildcats set the tone early with a 67-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter, giving them an early edge on the scoreboard.
Olympus managed to respond with a pair of field goals—one in the first quarter and another before halftime—bringing the score to a tight 7-6 by the break. However, despite several drives, the Titans were unable to reach the end zone.
Woods Cross extended its lead late in the third quarter with a 13-yard touchdown pass that ultimately sealed the game. The Wildcats' defense took over from there, holding Olympus scoreless through the entire second half and securing their spot in the next round.
Now standing at 8-3 on the season, Woods Cross moves on, while Olympus finishes its campaign at an even 6-6.
