Heartbreak in Farmington: Search for Missing Woman Ends in Tragedy

A 19-year-old Farmington resident, Mia Casto, was found dead in a remote canyon area in Davis County after being reported missing by her family on Saturday. An intensive multi-agency search led to the discovery of her body on Sunday afternoon in the Rudd Creek area above Farmington. Police are still investigating her cause of death but reported no signs of foul play.

Davis Arts Council Invites Student Art Submissions for 2024 Exhibit with Cash Prizes

The Davis Arts Council (DAC) is inviting high school students in Davis County to submit artwork for its 2024 Student Art Competition and Exhibit. Participants can enter up to two works in any medium, with submissions due by November 8. The exhibit, opening with a reception and awards ceremony on November 14 at the Snow Horse Art Gallery, will run until January 8, 2024. Cash prizes are available for top entries, and one piece will be selected for DAC’s permanent collection. More details are available on DAC's website.

How to Find Your In-Person Voting Location in Utah

With election season upon us, many Utah residents are gearing up to vote in person. If you’re planning to cast your ballot at a physical polling location, it’s essential to know where to go. Fortunately, Utah provides a helpful online tool to make finding your voting location easy. Here’s a step-by-step guide to using this tool to locate your polling place.

Step 1: Access the Utah Voter Search Tool

To find your polling location, start by visiting the Utah Voter Search website. You can use this link: Utah Voter Search. This tool is designed specifically to help residents find important voting information based on their address.

Step 2: Search by Address

Once on the Voter Search page, you’ll see an option to search for voting information by entering your home address. Simply type in your full street address, city, and ZIP code. This step helps ensure you’re directed to the correct polling location for your registered voting area.

Step 3: View Your Polling Location

After entering your information, the tool will display details about your assigned polling place. This information includes the name of the voting center, the address, and, in some cases, the hours of operation. Be sure to double-check these details before heading out, as hours and locations may vary.

Additional Tips for Voting In Person

- Check Requirements: In Utah, you may need to bring a valid form of ID, such as a driver’s license or state-issued ID card. Confirm ID requirements before going to vote.

- Plan Ahead: Polling places can be busy, especially during peak hours. Consider voting during off-peak times or preparing for a short wait.

- Review Your Ballot: Familiarize yourself with the candidates and issues on the ballot before arriving. Many counties provide sample ballots online, allowing you to plan how you will vote ahead of time.

By following these steps, you’ll be ready to participate in the election smoothly and efficiently. Happy voting, Utah!

🏈 Woods Cross Exits 5A Playoffs After Tough Loss to Olympus in 49-21 Battle

Olympus High School triumphed over Woods Cross, 49-21, in the 5A football playoffs, advancing to the quarterfinals. Olympus quickly established dominance, scoring three touchdowns early. Despite a defensive effort from Woods Cross and a brief injury to Olympus’s quarterback Max Rice, the Titans maintained their momentum. After returning, Rice added to Olympus's lead, connecting on several long plays and securing a strong offensive performance. Woods Cross managed two late touchdowns, but Olympus's early lead proved insurmountable, ending Woods Cross’s playoff hopes. Olympus now moves forward in their playoff run, looking strong after this decisive win.

Medicare Advantage vs. Original Medicare – Which is Right for You?

One of the most common questions I hear is, "Should I stick with Original Medicare or switch to Medicare Advantage?" Here’s a quick guide to help you decide:

- Original Medicare: Includes Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) coverage, allowing you to visit any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare. While it offers flexibility, it doesn’t cover extras like dental or vision.

- Medicare Advantage (Part C): Combines Part A, Part B, and often Part D (prescription drug coverage) into one plan. While typically limited to a network of providers, it often includes additional benefits such as vision, dental, and wellness programs.

The choice comes down to your healthcare needs and whether you prefer flexibility or added benefits. If you need help deciding, feel free to reach out. I'm here to assist!
