Suspicious Circumstances Surround the

Discovery of Missing Woman's Body in Bountiful

A missing woman, April Marie Bowden, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Bountiful. Authorities were alerted to an unconscious woman on Mueller Park Road, and despite receiving medical aid, Bowden was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her death is being treated as suspicious due to the circumstances of her discovery. Bowden had been reported missing the prior Wednesday, having left her apartment without personal items or means of transportation. The police had expressed concern for her well-being due to medical issues. The investigation into her death is ongoing, with law enforcement urging anyone with information to come forward.

Authorities Investigate After Road Rage Shooting on Legacy Parkway

In Woods Cross, Utah, a road rage altercation escalated to gunfire on Legacy Parkway, where one car was targeted but fortunately resulted in no injuries. The confrontation unfolded in the southbound lanes near 500 South on a Saturday night, involving two vehicles. Following the shooting, authorities promptly shut down the affected portion of the parkway to facilitate an investigation and gather evidence. The assailant responsible for the shooting managed to escape the scene, prompting law enforcement to begin efforts to identify and locate the suspect's vehicle.

Viewmont High School recently celebrated the remarkable contributions of Jed Neilson, affectionately known as "Stat Man," who has dedicated 46 years to meticulously tracking the athletic achievements of its students. Despite never donning a sports uniform himself, Neilson has become an indispensable figure within the school's sports community, starting his unique journey at the age of 13 with church basketball. His passion for statistics led him to become an integral part of Viewmont High's sports, even extending his expertise to professional teams like the Utah Jazz and the University of Utah. Alongside his statistical work, Neilson also serves as a substitute teacher, fostering close relationships with students both on and off the court. His story is a testament to the impact of behind-the-scenes roles in the sports world and the value of dedication to one’s passions.

Farmington and Layton High Schools Excel in State Competitions, Setting New Standards

Farmington High School clinched the prestigious 6A state drill championship, showcasing unparalleled talent and coordination across all categories. Concurrently, Layton High School's boys wrestling team demonstrated exceptional skill and determination at the 6A Divisional A meet, dominating the competition. Layton's wrestlers are now poised for success at the state championships, with 24 athletes advancing, highlighting the depth and quality of their team. This dual triumph marks a significant achievement for both schools, setting new benchmarks in their respective sports.

Davis County's Adult Education program is set to begin its new session in mid-to-late January, offering a rich variety of classes including health and wellness topics like microgreens cultivation, sleep improvement, overcoming mental health challenges, and herbalism. The initiative aims to foster community learning and personal growth with courses available for all ages, including ACT Prep and special winter classes. Enthusiastic local experts will lead the sessions, encouraging residents to embrace lifelong learning and self-improvement.
