Sustainable Citrus Farming Flourishes in Northern Utah
In the Weber-Davis area of Utah, an innovative farmer, Chad Midgley, is defying conventional agricultural norms by cultivating a variety of citrus fruits, such as oranges, pomelos, and kumquats. Leveraging his family's farming legacy and cutting-edge greenhouse technology, Midgley's endeavors span across Ogden, Syracuse, and Bountiful. His greenhouses are uniquely designed to maintain an optimal climate for citrus growth, utilizing environmentally friendly heating methods. Beyond commercial production, Midgley is passionate about educating the community on sustainable farming techniques, offering tours and classes at his farms. This venture not only enriches the local market with fresh, Utah-grown citrus but also fosters a culture of agricultural innovation and self-sufficiency.

Farmington High Hosts First Refugee Awareness Night, Bridges Communities
In a poignant gathering at Farmington High School, residents of Davis County had a rare and moving opportunity to listen to the firsthand experiences of refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, and Ukraine, sharing their powerful stories of survival and new beginnings in Utah. This event emphasized the importance of community support, respect, and welcoming attitudes towards refugees, urging residents to actively participate in acts of kindness and volunteer efforts to aid refugee families.

Stranded on Ice: The Survival Story of Two Utah Fishermen
Two fishermen, aged 73 and 77, were stranded by ice on Porcupine Reservoir, Utah. Initially enjoying calm weather, they were soon trapped by shifting ice. Using their boat anchor, they broke through the ice, a slow and laborious process, eventually reaching safety. Their story is a testament to endurance and the spirit of adventure.

π₯ High School Lacrosse Highlights: Woods Cross Boys and Girls Lead with Perfect Records
The Woods Cross High School lacrosse teams have made an impressive start to their season, with both the boysβ and girlsβ teams remaining undefeated. The boys' team boasts a 3-0 record with victories over East and Syracuse, highlighted by strong performances from Dawson Staten, Carter Kringlen, and Jared Cannon. Similarly, the girls' team is 2-0, having defeated Mountain Crest and Bonneville, with standout performances from Ella Matthews, Lila Dunn, and Emmy Richards. Other local teams have shown mixed results early in the season, with Davis and Viewmont displaying strong performances while Bountiful and Farmington look to bounce back from early losses. The successful start for Woods Cross is attributed to their tight-knit team dynamics, robust defense, and strategic offensive plays.
