Second-Grade Teacher Leads by Example, Showing Students Education Opens Doors
Camille Jolly, a second-grade teacher at Hill Field Elementary in Davis School District, is being celebrated during Black History Month for her inspiring journey into education. After becoming a mother, Jolly returned to college and interned with a program supporting preschool education. Overcoming personal and cultural challenges, including being the first in her family to earn a Masterโs degree, Jolly uses her experiences to connect with students, promote cultural understanding, and inspire resilience. Her story highlights determination, adaptability, and the transformative power of education.
Community Urged to Support Reinstatement of Railroad Quiet Zone Before March 17 Deadline
Local residents have until March 17 to submit comments supporting the reinstatement of a suspended railroad quiet zone. The Federal Railroad Administration will review public feedback before the Railroad Safety Board votes on a waiver request. Community members are encouraged to submit their opinions online, as the decision could restore relief from disruptive train noise while ensuring safety at crossings.

Utah Circus Show Worthy Raises Funds and Awareness for Suicide Prevention
Cirque Du Kairos in Salt Lake City hosted Worthy: A Circus with a Cause to raise funds for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Utah Chapter. Featuring performers of all abilities, the show combines aerial acrobatics and hair suspension acts with a powerful message of healing and hope. For many involved, the event is personal, honoring loved ones affected by suicide and promoting mental health awareness. Although tickets are sold out, donations can still be made to support the cause. Donate Here

Weโre excited to introduce a brand-new weekly feature: Wellness Wisdom๐
Brought to you by Chelsea Hazzard, owner and licensed massage therapist at On Point Therapeutic Massage. Each week, she will share expert tips to help you feel and move better. With over a decade of experienceโspanning from Salt Lake City to Costa RicaโChelsea specializes in therapeutic massage that blends pain relief and relaxation. Whether you're dealing with muscle tension, chronic pain, or just need to unwind, her insights will help you make the most of your wellness journey.
๐ For this first edition, Chelsea is clearing up a
common massage misconception:

Deep Tissue vs. Deep Pressure โ Whatโs the Difference?
Not all firm massages are deep tissue! Deep tissue massage uses slow, focused strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia, helping release chronic tension. Deep pressure, on the other hand, simply means applying firm pressure without necessarily targeting deeper structures. The right choice depends on your bodyโs needs, and Iโm here to help you find the perfect fit!
