⭐️ Today’s Spotlight Feature:

In the heart of our community, a remarkable organization named Buffalo Blessings stands out not only for its profound mission but also for its effective delivery of hope and necessities to those in need. Founded by Anna Marie Bennett and her husband in 2007, after a life-changing visit to the Hopi and Navajo reservations, Buffalo Blessings has dedicated itself to alleviating poverty in a very tangible way—by providing food and basic necessities.

Buffalo Blessings is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity, strategically located at 909 N Skipton Drive, North Salt Lake, UT. It operates under the passionate leadership of Anna Marie Bennett, who serves as the President and Director. What sets Buffalo Blessings apart is its commendable operational model—being 100% volunteer-run, ensuring that approximately 97 percent of every donation dollar goes directly to program services. This efficient use of resources allows them to make a significant impact on the lives of hundreds of impoverished individuals on the reservations.

Their community involvement extends beyond direct service delivery. Over the past two summers, Buffalo Blessings hosted a fundraising booth at Food Truck Mondays at Legacy Park, showing their commitment to community engagement and raising awareness of their cause.

Looking ahead, Buffalo Blessings is excited to announce their upcoming trip to the reservations from October 11-13, 2024. During this visit, they will distribute items essential for daily life, such as grocery store gift certificates, personal hygiene supplies, and new clothing, some of which has been provided by the Sundance Film Festival. This event not only brings essential goods to those who need them most but also brings a message of solidarity and support from the wider community.

For those interested in supporting their cause or learning more about their profound impact, visit their website at www.buffaloblessings.com or follow their journey on social media: Instagram and Facebook

Buffalo Blessings invites you to be a part of their mission—whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word. Together, we can help ensure that no family within our wider community has to face hardships alone.

South Davis Metro Fire Service Honors Deputy Chief Dave Powers’ Contribution and Friendship

Deputy Chief Dave Powers of the South Davis Metro Fire Service has retired after a distinguished career marked by dedication and mentorship. Utah Wildlife Officials Report Tularemia in Deceased Beavers

A recent health alert has been issued in Utah following the discovery of nine deceased beavers in Summit, Wasatch, and Utah counties over the last few weeks. Tests conducted on three of these beavers have confirmed the presence of tularemia, a disease that can affect both animals and humans. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is now urging the public to exercise caution.

Residents and visitors are advised not to handle dead wildlife such as rabbits, beavers, or other rodents. Any sightings of such carcasses should be immediately reported to the nearest Division of Wildlife Resources office. The agency has also provided additional information and safety precautions regarding tularemia on their website.
