Tragic Auto-Pedestrian Accident Claims Life in Davis County
In Davis County, a tragic incident occurred on a recent Tuesday night. A 40-year-old woman was fatally struck in an auto-pedestrian accident. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened around 8:50 p.m. on southbound U.S. 89, between South Weber Drive and I-84. The woman was walking along the highway when she was hit by a van, followed by another vehicle, leading to her death. The circumstances as to why she was walking on the highway remain unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.

Touch and Learn: Sandy Students Get Up Close with a Real Reindeer
At Sprucewood Elementary School in Sandy, a unique and educational event took place when kindergarteners had the opportunity to interact with a real reindeer. As part of their curriculum, students explored different animals in habitats and learned about the characteristics that differentiate living and nonliving animals. The visit from one of Santa's reindeer was not only exciting but also educational. The children had the chance to physically touch and feel the reindeer's coat and antlers, enriching their understanding of the animal. This hands-on experience was incorporated into their learning, as they wrote informational pieces about reindeer, detailing what they can do, have, and are. This memorable event combined fun with education, giving the students a chance to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
