Bountiful Celebrates Trail Naming Milestone
A well-traveled trail in Bountiful’s foothills, previously known as segments “304” and “305,” now has an official name: Elephant Descent.
The announcement comes with the release of a new trail map highlighting both new and existing trail names across the Bountiful Trails Network. The naming process was a joint effort between the U.S. Forest Service, Bountiful City, and the Bountiful Trails Advisory Committee, following federal guidelines.
Trail users are encouraged to check out the updated map—best viewed on desktop—and enjoy the improved wayfinding as they explore Bountiful’s scenic backyard.

Cross E Ranch Blooms with September Events and Sunflower Celebrations
🌻 Cross E Ranch Kicks Off Fall Fun with Flowers, Festivals, and Family Activities
Cross E Ranch is bringing vibrant seasonal charm to the community with a series of delightful events this September, promising unforgettable experiences for families, couples, and friends alike.
The Flower Bar Experience kicks things off on Tuesday, September 9th, offering a perfect night out for flower lovers. Guests are invited to create their own handpicked bouquets, sip on bottomless limeades, and indulge in unlimited donuts. The event runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and is ideal for a girls' night out, sisterly bonding, or a romantic date. With limited space available, early reservations are encouraged.
The excitement continues with the Grand Opening Weekend of the ranch’s famous Sunflower Festival, starting September 12th. Acres of blooming sunflowers provide a scenic backdrop for photography or a tranquil stroll. Visitors can also pick their own sunflowers to take home.
To make the weekend extra special, Cross E Ranch will host several family-friendly activities on September 12th and 13th, including raffles with unique prizes, a candy cannon, and a scavenger hunt with cash rewards.
The Sunflower Festival will run through September 17th, followed closely by the launch of the Fall Festival, which begins on September 19th and continues until November 1st. Please note: the ranch will be closed on September 18th and 30th.
Whether you're after the perfect bouquet, a field of sunflowers, or festive fall fun, Cross E Ranch is the place to be this season.

The 600-person facility, intended to replace an existing downtown shelter, has raised concerns over public safety, resource strain, and a lack of collaboration.
