Welcome to the Bountiful Buzz's community spotlight! Today, we're twirling with excitement as we feature one of our most cherished local businesses - Turning Pointe Ballet.
Tucked away in Centerville, Turning Pointe Ballet is not just a dance studio; it's a haven for nurturing young and old alike in the graceful art of ballet. Founded on the principles of love, encouragement, and nurturing, Turning Pointe Ballet stands as a beacon of high-quality classical ballet technique and more.
Mission at Heart
Turning Pointe Ballet's mission is to foster an environment that not only teaches dance but also instills grace, poise, self-discipline, and stage presence. This innovative approach helps dancers appreciate their growth while encouraging others.
Why We Dance
According to Turning Pointe Ballet, dance is fundamental to learning, offering a natural method for expression and development of physical, emotional, and social skills. The studio emphasizes that dance is a combination of cognitive, auditory, and physical benefits, molding children into strong, confident individuals with a love for the performing arts.
Star-Studded Faculty
The spotlight shines brightly on the passionate faculty, including Joan Bowles, the Artistic Director with over 30 years of experience in ballet and theatrical arts. Sarah Taylor, the Managing Director, brings her lifelong love for ballet from overcoming physical challenges to nurturing young talent. Amelia Bowles, a lifelong ballet student and teacher, along with James Bartholomew, a Ballet West Academy alum, complete this dynamic team, each bringing their unique flair to the studio.
Classes for Everyone
Turning Pointe Ballet offers a diverse range of classes, from the 'Tiny Two-twos' for toddlers to advanced levels for seasoned dancers. Unique to their curriculum are the Men's & Boy's Classes, focusing on the athleticism of ballet, and Adult Classes open to all, regardless of prior experience. Their Barre Workout Class has become a community favorite, offering a fun and engaging total body workout.

A Delightful Addition: The 14-Mile Bonneville Shoreline Trail Unveiled in Mueller Park
The new 14-mile stretch of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail was unveiled in Mueller Park Canyon, attended by Davis County officials and local enthusiasts. This trail is part of a larger vision for a 280-mile trail across Utah. Designed for all skill levels and with easy access points, it's celebrated for its mental health benefits and community impact. The trail, costing $500,000 and funded by state and county resources, is seen as a step towards making Davis County a prime outdoor destination. Despite challenges in planning and navigating environmental policies, the trail’s popularity and its positive effects on the community, especially young mountain bikers, highlight its significance.

⚠️ A Rise in Property Fraud: Essential Tips for Small Business Owners
Property fraud is on the rise in Salt Lake City, particularly affecting small business owners. Fraudsters are altering state records to replace legitimate business owners' names with fictitious ones, then selling off properties or businesses. This issue, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, is especially prevalent among limited liability companies. Protection measures include regularly checking business records with the state, using the Business Fraud Alert program, and for homeowners, the Property Watch program. Though the Utah Division of Corporations and Commercial Code doesn't investigate, they accept filings for discrepancies. Staying informed and vigilant is crucial to prevent falling victim to such fraud.

It’s National Candy Corn Day Today, October 30th!
A Sweet Controversy Every Halloween
Candy corn, the iconic Halloween treat with its tricolor design, stirs up a sweet controversy every year. This seasonal candy, loved for its quirky charm and intense sugary taste by some and criticized for its waxy texture and candle-like flavor by others, still manages impressive sales. Despite divided opinions, candy corn has become an integral part of cultural celebrations, influencing everything from fashion to social media. Its history dates back to the 19th century, and while nutritionally similar to other candies, it holds a unique place in the hearts of many. Whether loved or loathed, candy corn remains a symbol of Halloween and autumn festivities.
