West Bountiful Honors Police Department During National Police Week
Last week West Bountiful celebrated National Police Week, honoring the efforts of their police department. The city expressed gratitude in a Facebook post, thanking officers for their hard work and commitment. Events during the week included community outreach, safety demonstrations, and moments of silence for fallen officers. Residents and businesses supported by lighting up in blue. Police Chief John Smith appreciated the community's recognition, reinforcing the department's commitment to public safety. The week highlighted the essential role of law enforcement in maintaining community well-being.

Grow Your Garden and Support a Family in Need at Thyme & Seasons
The owner of Bountiful's beloved restaurant, Thyme & Seasons, Hai, has been growing a variety of plant starters and garden supplies for months. Now, he's selling them to support his daughter's medical expenses.
Hai's daughter has been facing significant health challenges, and the family is seeking community support through this initiative. The plant sale offers a wide range of garden supplies, perfect for those looking to spruce up their gardens this season.
Neighbors and local residents are encouraged to visit Thyme & Seasons to purchase plants and contribute to this heartfelt cause. Every purchase made not only enhances your garden but also directly helps a family in need.

Unusual Rescue: Centerville Firefighters Use Jaws of Life to Free Snake
In a surprising incident last Wednesday, a young man and his mother arrived at Station 83 in Centerville with an unusual problem. Their pet ball python had managed to wedge itself into a tight space within the car seat. The South Davis Metro Fire Service Areaβs technical rescue team assessed the situation and used the jaws of life to carefully free the snake. The python was safely returned to its family, unharmed.

Valiant Effort: Bountiful Boys' Volleyball Secures Runner-Up Spot
The Bountiful High School boys' volleyball team put up a valiant fight in the 5A state championship match held at the UCCU Center in Orem on May 18, 2024. Facing the formidable Maple Mountain team, Bountiful showed determination and skill, though they ultimately fell short, securing the runner-up position. Despite the defeat, the team showcased exceptional skill and determination, earning praise from their coach and the community. Their journey through the tournament was marked by impressive performances, including a notable semifinal win against Olympus. The team's effort and spirit have set a strong foundation for future successes.

Welcome to βMedicare Mondayβ
Brought to you by John Miller, your Medicare Specialist.
Weekly Expert Tip:
Medicare Tip of the Week: Understanding Medicare Part B
Medicare Part B covers medical insurance like doctor visits, outpatient care, and preventive services. For 2024, the standard monthly premium is $174.70, but it can be higher based on your income. Thereβs also a $240 annual deductible before coverage kicks in, with a typical 20% coinsurance for services thereafter.
Key Points:
- Automatic Deductions: Premiums are deducted from Social Security benefits if youβre receiving them.
- Avoid Penalties: Enroll when first eligible to avoid late penalties.
