Davis County Library Hosts Virtual Author Event with Waubgeshig Rice

The Davis County Library is inviting readers to a special virtual discussion with bestselling author Waubgeshig Rice on Tuesday, February 11, at 5:00 p.m. The event will focus on his latest novel, Moon of the Turning Leaves, the highly anticipated sequel to Moon of the Crusted Snow.

Rice’s newest book continues the story of Evan Whitesky and his community, who were forced to survive in the wilderness of northern Ontario after a mysterious disaster plunged the world into darkness. Now, years later, Evan and his daughter, Nangohns, must lead a journey to their ancestral homeland on the north shore of Lake Huron, seeking a sustainable future while facing new dangers in an uncertain world.

Visitors may notice playful chasing, vocalizations, and toy-sharing—natural behaviors that the zoo’s animal care team closely monitors.
