βLocal Business Spotlight Feature:

In the heart of our community, where the spirit of creativity and warmth intertwines, stands a beacon of local entrepreneurship and craftsmanship: Lockwood Concepts. Founded over five years ago by Lolly Vuz, a retiree with a rich background in commercial interior design and a fervent outdoor enthusiast, Lockwood Concepts has been weaving warmth into our lives with its exclusive line of hand-sewn woolen scarves and gaiters, aptly named Wasatch Woollies.
Crafted from the exquisite Pendleton blankets and fabric, each piece tells a story of passion, dedication, and a pursuit to break the monotony of winter wear. Sourced directly from the Pendleton factory in Oregon, Lockwood Concepts is a testament to Lolly's commitment to quality, local craftsmanship, and a desire to offer something both fashionable and warm to fellow outdoor lovers.
What sets Lockwood Concepts apart is not just its unique products but its deep-rooted connection to our community. The brand is a proud participant in local initiatives, from volunteering with the Intermountain Therapy Animals alongside Lolly's Bernese mountain dog to donating their sought-after woollies for various local fundraisers. Notably, the womenβs US bobsled team and retired members of the Cowgirls of America are among the distinguished wearers of Wasatch Woollies, highlighting the brandβs appeal and versatility.
Lockwood Concepts prides itself on offering free shipping across the continental US and exclusively selling its products at markets and through its website, www.Lockwoodconcepts.com. This approach ensures that each piece reaches the hands of those who truly appreciate the craftsmanship and story behind it.
As we look forward to the warmer days, Lockwood Concepts is gearing up for an exciting season. The brand will be hosting a Spring trunk show at
TF Brewery, alongside appearances at numerous summer markets (dates to be announced). These events promise not only a showcase of the latest creations from Lockwood Concepts but also an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the talent and creativity among us.
Stay connected with Lockwood Concepts through their Instagram to be the first to know about their upcoming events, new product launches, and more. Letβs continue to support local businesses like Lockwood Concepts that add so much character and warmth to our community.
Lolly Vuz and Lockwood Concepts remind us of the beauty in craftsmanship, the value of community involvement, and the warmth that comes from a well-made scarf. As the chilly days linger, consider wrapping yourself in the comfort and style of a Wasatch Woolly, and feel the embrace of a community cherished and warmed by the efforts of one of its own.

For more information, visit Lockwood Concepts and follow their journey on Instagram at @Lockwood.concepts. Let's embrace the warmth and creativity that Lockwood Concepts brings to our community.

Storm Alert: Utah Prepares for Incoming Blizzard Remnants
Utah is preparing for a significant weather shift as it anticipates the arrival of a storm system, remnants of a blizzard that recently impacted California. The National Weather Service has issued warnings and watches, including a winter storm warning for the Wasatch Mountains and a watch for other regions. This system is expected to start with rain and snow on Friday, turning to heavy snow by Saturday, particularly affecting northern Utah's mountains. Strong winds are also forecasted across the state, raising concerns about possible power outages and travel difficulties.

Police Identify Victim in Bountiful Shooting, No Arrests Made Yet
In a recent development from Bountiful, Utah, law enforcement has identified 20-year-old Uatisone Kelemete as the victim of a deadly shooting. This incident, which occurred early Thursday, saw Kelemete fatally wounded by a single gunshot to the abdomen, despite the discovery of eighteen bullet casings at the scene. Authorities have pinpointed a person of interest in connection to this case but have yet to make any arrests. The investigation continues as the community reels from the loss, and officials urge anyone with information to step forward.

Viewmont High Alum Aimee Cobabe Climbs to Senior News Reporter at KSL
I always find joy in sharing stories of people from the local community who make remarkable strides in their fields. Today, I'm excited to highlight Aimee Cobabe, a Viewmont High School alum whose journey from meteorology to journalism led her to become the Senior News Reporter at KSL Newsradio. Aimee's transition to news reporting, fueled by her initial fear of broadcasting, showcases her dedication and passion for storytelling. Her career, enriched by experiences at Utah Public Radio and Mid-Utah Radio, underscores the impact of local news in connecting and informing our community. Way to go Aimee! π
