🦟 Four Davis County Residents Hospitalized With West Nile

Davis County health officials are urging residents to keep taking mosquito precautions after four people were hospitalized with West Nile virus this summer. Officials recommend using insect repellent, removing standing water around homes and checking window and door screens as mosquito season continues.

West Nile can cause serious illness in some people, so South Davis residents should continue mosquito prevention efforts even as summer winds down. 👉 Read More

 🏋️ A Closer Look at Bountiful’s New ALYZE Health

ALYZE Health, a newer health and wellness club in Bountiful, will hold its grand opening Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 AM–1 PM. The facility at 155 W. 500 South combines fitness, functional medicine, diagnostics, recovery services and an on-site lab, with free access to select services, giveaways and one-day specials planned for the event.

The opening gives local residents a new local option for fitness, health testing and recovery services in one location.

📚 Bountiful Library Services Move to the “Twig”

While the main Bountiful Library branch is closed for renovations, library services are continuing at a temporary location nicknamed the “Bountiful Twig” at 85 N. Main Street. Visitors can browse books, pick up holds, use public computers and WiFi, make copies, study, and attend storytime Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM.

Local residents can still access most everyday library services during the renovation without leaving the city.

🐾 Animal Care of Davis County Seeks Volunteers

Animal Care of Davis County is recruiting volunteers to help with pet exercise, socialization, enrichment, training, adoption events, cleaning and feeding. The shelter also has behind-the-scenes opportunities for people with skills in photography, social media, graphic design and organization.

Local residents looking to volunteer with animals—or support the shelter without direct animal handling—have several ways to get involved nearby in Fruit Heights.

🔥 Fire Prevention Night Is Tonight in Bountiful

South Davis Metro Fire is hosting Fire Prevention Night tonight, Sept. 9, from 6–8 PM at Station 81, 255 S. 100 W. in Bountiful. Families can check out fire engine rides, a junior firefighter challenge, safety information and swag giveaways.

It’s an easy, family-friendly way to meet local firefighters and pick up practical fire safety tips tonight.
