🌨️ Winter Storm Disrupts SLC Travel
Winter weather along the Wasatch Front is causing flight delays and cancellations at Salt Lake City International Airport. Airlines are working to de-ice planes, and travelers are encouraged to check their flight status before heading to the airport. Road conditions around the airport may also be slick during peak travel times.
Why It Matters:
If you're flying out of SLC—or picking someone up—expect possible delays and give yourself extra time to navigate snowy roads from Bountiful to Farmington.

🐾 Animal Cruelty Case Heads to Farmington Court
A man accused of abandoning a starving mother dog at Bountiful Pond and throwing six 3-week-old puppies from a moving car has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of animal torture. The case is scheduled for Monday, February 23 at 9:30 AM in 2nd District Court in Farmington. Community members are organizing to attend the hearing and submit respectful letters to the judge and prosecuting attorney.

This case is drawing strong emotions across Bountiful and Farmington, with residents calling for accountability in a situation that has shaken local animal lovers.

⚖️ Centerville Resident Raises Cemetery Plot Concern
A Centerville resident says he recently learned he cannot sell his city-purchased cemetery plot directly to a neighbor as he prepares to move out of state. Under current rules, Right of Burial Certificates must be sold back to the city, which then controls who can purchase the plot. The resident says he was unaware of that restriction when he originally bought it and wants others to understand the policy.

If you own—or are considering purchasing—a cemetery plot in Centerville, it’s worth reviewing the resale rules so there are no surprises later.

🏀 Farmington Girls Battle Hard in 6A Playoffs
The Farmington girls basketball team wrapped up a strong postseason run with a 41-30 loss to No. 7 Copper Hills Grizzlies in the 6A second round. Farmington stayed within striking distance all game, trailing by just one point heading into the fourth quarter before Copper Hills pulled away late. Makelle Weber and Olive Wayland led the Phoenix with nine points each in a gritty team effort.

Farmington’s competitive showing against a higher-seeded team highlights the strength of the program and gives the community plenty to be proud of heading into next season.
