Woods Cross approved a 46.86% increase in the city portion of property taxes, generating about $995,000 more per year. โค๏ธ A Saturday of Service
Local residents have several ways to give back this Saturday during the city's annual Day of Service, held in remembrance of September 11 and, this year, in recognition of America's 250th anniversary.
One of the biggest efforts will benefit the Bountiful Food Pantry. Residents can leave donated food and other requested items on their porch by 8 AM Saturday, Sept. 12, and volunteers will collect them throughout the community.
Other projects include cleanup at Bountiful Veterans Park along with several projects that can be completed from home for the Food Pantry.

๐ Local High School Teams Battle Through a Tough Friday Night
It was a tough night on the scoreboard for High School football, with Viewmont, Woods Cross and Farmington each falling in nonregion matchups Friday.
Viewmont battled Weber to the finish in a 28โ21 loss at home. The Vikings were tied 14โ14 at halftime and pulled within a touchdown late when Brett Tovey connected with Damon Frey for a 65-yard score. Tovey finished with three touchdown passes, while Owen Seeley led the defense with 12 tackles and a sack.
Woods Cross came heartbreakingly close on the road, falling to Snow Canyon 35โ28 after the Warriors scored the winning touchdown with just 22 seconds remaining. Sam Bahr rushed for two touchdowns, while Mak Trimming returned an interception 89 yards for a score.
Farmington jumped out to an early lead at American Fork before the Cavemen pulled away for a 41โ13 victory. Thayne Boyle scored on a 1-yard run, and Easton Hunt returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown for the Phoenix.
The results leave Viewmont and Woods Cross at 2โ2, while Farmington moves to 1โ3 heading into the next week of play.
