Bountiful Food Pantry Announces Return of WIC Services

The Bountiful Food Pantry is set to reintroduce the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, offering essential nutritional support to the community. Interested individuals can meet with WIC representatives on December 22nd and 28th from 11 AM to 1 PM to learn about program benefits and enrollment. Concurrently, the pantry has announced its holiday schedule, highlighting closures on December 25th and 26th. This move, along with the WIC program's return, underscores the pantry's commitment to community well-being and nutritional health. The pantry also expressed gratitude to its donors, volunteers, and staff, emphasizing its ongoing dedication to community service and nourishment.

Officer Jones Celebrated as December's Top Employee at Woods Cross Police Department

Officer Jones of the Woods Cross Police Department has been honored as the Employee of the Month for December. Recognized for his dedication, Jones balanced his demanding roles as the NOVA Officer for Woods Cross Elementary and as a primary Field Training Officer, all while maintaining a positive attitude amidst personal sacrifices. His commitment to his duties and the community exemplifies the values of the police department.

Utah's Guinness Record Holder for Longest Fingernails, LeeAnn Redmond, Passes Away

LeeAnn Redmond, the Utah woman who held the Guinness World Record for the longest fingernails, has passed away at 82. Starting in 1979, she grew her nails to a combined length of 8.65 meters by 2008. A lively and talented individual, LeeAnn was known for her fashion sense, sewing skills, and as the life of the party. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, with her funeral scheduled for Thursday.

🏀 Bountiful's Own Sam Merrill Dazzles in Career Night Against Jazz

In a stunning showcase of local talent making good on the national stage, former Bountiful High star and Utah State standout, Sam Merrill, delivered an unforgettable performance against his hometown Utah Jazz. In a career-high game, Merrill, now a player for the Cleveland Cavaliers, scored 27 points, with eight 3-pointers leading to a significant victory. His journey, marked by relentless dedication and a deep-seated love for the game, underscores the essence of pursuing dreams. Merrill's story, from his humble beginnings to shining in the NBA, is a testament to hard work, belief, and the power of representing one's roots on the grand stage.

The Great Christmas Treat Vote:
Poll Results

And the Winner is... Sugar Cookies! 🍪

The votes are in, and it's a sweet victory for Sugar Cookies in our "Great Christmas Treat Vote"! These festive favorites have taken the crown, proving that sometimes simplicity sprinkled with sugar is all we need. But let's not forget the strong contenders: Eggnog and Fudge, neck and neck, proving that our taste buds can't resist a good creamy sip or a chocolatey bite.

Gingerbread cookies trotted in gracefully at third place. They might not have taken the top spot, but they sure won our hearts with their spicy charm and delightful decorations. And in a surprising twist, Fruitcake has outranked Peppermint Bark! It seems like this often-joked-about dessert has a secret fan club in our community.

Whether your favorite treat won or not, we hope this poll brought a smile and maybe a little craving for holiday sweets. Here's to enjoying all our beloved treats this festive season—yes, even the humble Fruitcake deserves a nibble!

Happy Holidays!
