Bountiful Celebrates 75th Handcart Days This Weekend

Bountiful is gearing up for its 75th annual Handcart Days celebration, honoring the legacy of early pioneers and the city's community spirit. The event kicks off Friday, July 25, and continues through Saturday, July 26, offering a full weekend of fun.

Friday evening’s festivities run from 5 to 9:30 p.m. in Bountiful City Park, with food vendors, games, and activities for all ages. At 8 p.m., Roy Rivers—a popular John Denver tribute artist—will perform a live outdoor concert. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and enjoy the summer night with concessions on hand.

Saturday starts early with a 1K, 5K, and half marathon beginning at 5 a.m., followed by the much-anticipated parade at 9 a.m. along Main Street. Featuring professional floats, bands, and horse entries, the 1.8-mile parade promises lively entertainment. Parade-goers can place chairs along the route starting Friday at 9 p.m.

Activities resume in the park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with more food and games, wrapping up with a fireworks display at Mueller Park Junior High at 10 p.m.

Handcart Days relies on nearly 1,000 volunteers and support from city services, showcasing the strong community behind this long-standing tradition. Full event details are available at handcartdays.org.

Celebrate July 24th with Sweet Corn from Bangerter Farm’s Holiday Market

In celebration of Pioneer Day, Bangerter Farm's produce stand in Bountiful will be open today, July 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Locals are invited to stop by and stock up on freshly picked sweet corn and a variety of other farm-grown vegetables—perfect for any holiday barbecue plans.

Please note, since the farm stand will be open today, Bangerter Farm will not be participating in the Bountiful Farmers Market this week.

Thank you to the community for your continued support and commitment to buying local. And if you look closely, you might even spot a special visitor in the cornfield who knows where to find the best ears—just a pair of antlers and ears peeking above the stalks give him away!

The Mousetrap Auditions Open as City Plans Chilling Dinner Theater

Farmington City is holding open auditions for its fall dinner theater production of The Mousetrap, directed by Katie Plott. Auditions will be July 30 at the Farmington Art Center, with callbacks on August 2. Performances are set for October 2–11. Hopebox Theatre Rallies Behind Local Family with Special Performance of Shrek the Musical

The community is coming together at Hopebox Theatre in a heartwarming show of support for Mark, a local resident currently battling pancreatic cancer. As part of its mission to uplift those facing life-threatening illnesses, the theatre is dedicating proceeds from its current production of Shrek the Musical to Mark and his family.

Mark is supported by his devoted wife, Kathy, and their two daughters, Victoria and Alexa. Victoria is married to Adam Bean, and together they are raising Mark’s grandchildren, six-year-old Henry and three-year-old Millie. The family’s beloved mini goldendoodle, Tobi, rounds out their tight-knit crew.

Hopebox Theatre has long been known for combining the magic of live performance with the power of community. By purchasing tickets to this lively and family-friendly production, audience members will not only enjoy an entertaining night out but also directly contribute to easing the burden of Mark’s medical journey.

Bountiful Cheer Team Kicks Off Clothing Drive for Fundraising Effort

The Bountiful Cheer Team is rallying community support through a clothing drive fundraiser, offering an easy way for residents to donate and make a difference. Team members are collecting gently used clothing and household textiles, with all donations going to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah.

The drive not only helps fund mentorship programs across the state but also benefits the cheer team by contributing to their fundraising efforts for uniforms, travel, and competition expenses. Residents who wish to donate can simply send a direct message to the team’s Instagram page to schedule a clothing pickup, making it a convenient way to contribute from home.

This local effort combines community spirit, youth mentorship, and support for student athletics — all through the simple act of clearing out your closet.
