๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Bountiful Launches โ€œ250 Challengeโ€ to Get Residents Moving This Summer

Bountiful City is inviting residents of all ages to take part in the new โ€œBountiful 250 Challenge: Red, White, and MOVE!โ€ โ€” a citywide wellness and community engagement challenge happening throughout the summer and into early fall. Participants can earn points by attending local events, staying active, volunteering, and connecting with neighbors across the city. The goal is to reach 250 points by participating in activities residents may already be doing โ€” from hikes and bike parades to concerts, blood drives, and recreation events.

Residents who hit the 250-point milestone will become eligible for several prizes, including annual and day passes to the South Davis Recreation Center, exclusive mystery prizes, and an invitation to the cityโ€™s Grand Celebration Challenge 250 Party.

Several kickoff events are already scheduled:

  • May 16 at 10 AM โ€” Community Garden Kick-off (20 points)

  • May 30 at 10 AM โ€” Family-Friendly Hike in Mueller Park Canyon (20 points)

  • July 2 at 6:15 PM โ€” Childrenโ€™s Bike Parade (25 points)

  • Sept. 7 at 6 AM โ€” Labor Day Triathlon (30 points)

City officials say many more events will be added throughout the season, including guided hikes, concerts, and community blood drives.

Participants can pick up a point-tracking scorecard and view the full event calendar by visiting the cityโ€™s America 250 page at BOUNTIFULUTAH.GOV/AMERICA250.

๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ Spider-Man Grab Bags Return to Woods Cross Smithโ€™s for Primary Childrenโ€™s Fundraiser

A local fundraiser supporting Primary Childrenโ€™s Hospital is happening this Friday and Saturday at the Woods Cross Smithโ€™s from 3โ€“6 PM. Community members can donate $5 to receive a Spider-Man-themed grab bag, with proceeds helping support care and services for children at Primary Childrenโ€™s Hospital.

The annual event has become a fun tradition for local families looking to support a good cause while giving kids a small surprise to enjoy. Organizers encourage residents to stop by during the afternoon event hours and help support the fundraiser.

๐Ÿš’ Semi Crash Causes Fuel Spill on I-15

South Davis Metro Fire crews responded to a serious crash around 2:45 PM involving vehicles pinned between a barrier and a semi truck. While no extrication was needed, crews dealt with a large diesel fuel spill that required Hazmat response. Two patients were transported to local hospitals in stable condition.

Drivers in South Davis may have seen delays while crews safely cleaned up the hazardous spill and cleared the scene.

๐Ÿ Bountiful City Honors Outstanding Students and State Champion Redhawks Volleyball Team

Bountiful City leaders recognized students from Bountiful High School and Woods Cross High School during a recent city council celebration highlighting achievements in academics, athletics, music, art, leadership, and community involvement. The evening also included special recognition for the Bountiful High boys volleyball team following their State Championship season.

Mayor Kate Bradshaw shared that the event celebrated the hard work and accomplishments of local students as they prepare for their next chapter after graduation. The championship volleyball team brought plenty of energy to the evening โ€” and plenty of height โ€” with city leaders joking they could barely be seen behind the players on the council dais.

City officials praised the students for representing Bountiful well and expressed hope many will someday return to raise families and build careers in their hometown community.

๐Ÿฅ Redhawks Host State Playoff Showdown Thursday Night (TONIGHT)

Playoff lacrosse returns to Bountiful TONIGHT, as the Redhawks host East High in the 5A Boys Lacrosse State Championships. Bountiful enters the matchup with a strong 13-3 record and a dominant 9-1 home record this season.

The game starts at 7 PM on May 14 at Bountiful High School, with the Redhawks looking to continue their postseason run against an East squad coming in at 11-7 overall.
