Bountiful Attacker Sentenced to 15 Years to Life in Prison
Kane Thomas Fairbank was sentenced to 15 years to life for the attempted murders of two women in Bountiful. He attacked his first victim, whom he met on Tinder, and later targeted a second woman. Both survived with severe injuries. Fairbank, described as a "serial killer in the making," exhibited disturbing behavior and intent. He expressed remorse at sentencing.

Unleashed Dogs in North Salt Lake Spark Safety Concerns
The Animal Care Clinic of Davis County recently issued a public service announcement emphasizing the importance of leash laws. They highlighted the increase in reports of dogs being walked off-leash in local parks and roadways, urging pet owners to comply with the law for the safety and comfort of all community members.
The clinic noted concerning incidents where residents became hostile when asked to leash their dogs. They reminded the community that some people and their pets might need space for various reasons, such as health issues or fear of strange dogs. Respecting these needs and adhering to leash laws can make a significant difference in reducing stress and ensuring safety.
Echoing this sentiment, a North Salt Lake resident shared their experience of feeling unsafe walking their small dogs due to unleashed pets. They called for common sense and respect for others who follow the rules, stressing the need for empathy and responsible pet ownership.
Together, the Animal Care Clinic and local residents are urging the community to follow leash laws, fostering a safe and harmonious environment for everyone.

Medicare Tip of the Day: Take Advantage of Preventive Services
Did you know that Medicare covers a wide range of preventive services to help you stay healthy and catch potential health issues early? Utilizing these services can significantly contribute to your overall well-being.
Whatβs Covered:
- Annual Wellness Visit: Schedule your free annual wellness visit to develop or update a personalized prevention plan.
- Screenings and Tests: Medicare covers screenings for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer (breast, cervical, colorectal, prostate), osteoporosis, and more.
- Vaccinations: Get covered vaccines like flu shots, pneumonia shots, and the COVID-19 vaccine.
- Counseling: Receive behavioral counseling for alcohol misuse, depression, obesity, and tobacco use.
Why It Matters:
Preventive services are designed to catch health problems early when they are easier to treat. Staying on top of these can help you manage your health better and avoid more serious issues down the road.
Take Action:
- Schedule Appointments: Talk to your doctor about scheduling preventive screenings and vaccinations.
- Stay Informed: Review your Medicare benefits to understand what preventive services are covered.
- Be Proactive: Use your Annual Wellness Visit to discuss your health goals and prevention strategies with your doctor.
