Service Projects in Bountiful Mark 9/11 Commemoration
Bountiful residents have an opportunity to honor the memory of September 11, 2001, by participating in the annual Bountiful Day of Service on Saturday, September 7. This event, organized by local civic, service, and faith groups, aims to foster unity and community spirit through various service projects.
Main Event:
- Food Drive for Bountiful Food Pantry: The primary focus of this year's event is a food drive for the Bountiful Food Pantry. With an anticipated increase in demand, residents are encouraged to place donated food items on their porches by 8:00 a.m. on September 7 for pickup. Donations can also be dropped off directly at the Food Pantry at any time.
Additional Service Opportunities:
- Fuel Mitigation at Eggett Park: Volunteers are needed to help reduce fire hazards by trimming and hauling vegetation in the wooded areas of Eggett Park. The work will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Volunteers should bring gloves, pruners, and tarps.
- Tree Planting and Weeding at Washington Park: To improve the park for future generations, volunteers will plant trees and weed the area around Washington Park's playing fields. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and participants are asked to bring shovels, rakes, gloves, and wheelbarrows.
- Bleacher Construction at Mueller Park Jr. High Baseball Field: Bountiful City is replacing the bleachers at the Mueller Park Junior High baseball field, and volunteers are needed to assist with the construction from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Hand tools and ratchet sets are required.
- Neighborhood Fire Mitigation: The North, Mueller Park, and Heights Emergency Districts are organizing efforts to clear undergrowth around homes near Bountifulβs hillsides to prevent wildfires. Volunteers can join these efforts or request assistance for their yards by contacting the district organizers.
Other Contributions:
- Monetary Donations: For those who prefer to support the Food Pantry financially, donations can be made to help provide perishable items like milk to families in need.
- At-Home Projects: Residents can also contribute by participating in various at-home projects, such as assembling Pantry Packs, writing Notes for Children, creating Hygiene Kits, or donating items like toilet paper and plastic bags.
This day of service offers Bountiful residents a meaningful way to give back to their community while remembering a significant moment in history.

Teen Missing in Salt Lake City: Family Urgently Seeks Public's Help
A search is underway for a 16-year-old boy, Anthony, who has been reported missing in Salt Lake City, Utah. His family is desperately seeking information after his last known location was traced to 5002 W. 5400 S., Salt Lake City. According to his family, Anthony has not made any contact with anyone since his disappearance, and he has not been active online.
Authorities have listed him in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database as a missing person. Anthony does not have access to a car and may be accompanied by a girl who was mentioned in a social media post by his mother. The family has little information about this girl, including her name and age, but they believe she appears to be older than 16.
Anthony's mother is pleading with the public for help in locating her son. She urges anyone with information about Anthony's whereabouts or the identity of the girl he may be with to come forward immediately.

π Bountiful Holds Off Farmington to Extend Winning Streak
Bountiful High School extended its winning streak with a 17-12 victory over Farmington in a thrilling rivalry game. Bountiful's early lead, powered by quarterback Emerson Geilman and a strong defense, set the tone. Farmington fought back to tie the game at halftime but couldn't overcome late interceptions by Bountiful. Despite a valiant effort and a late safety, Farmington remains winless this season. Bountiful is now 2-0 and will face Olympus this week.

Medicare Beware: Protect Your Medicare Card
π§Ώ Safeguard your Medicare card just like you would a credit card.
Key Points:
- Keep It Safe: Only carry your Medicare card with you when you have a medical appointment. Otherwise, keep it in a secure place to prevent loss or theft.
- Guard Your Medicare Number: Never share your Medicare Number with anyone other than your healthcare provider. Scammers can use your Medicare Number to commit fraud and bill Medicare for services you didnβt receive.
- Be Cautious: If someone asks for your Medicare Number over the phone, online, or in person without a valid reason, itβs likely a scam.
Stay Protected:
By keeping your Medicare card secure and your Medicare Number private, you help protect your benefits and avoid potential fraud. For more tips on safeguarding your Medicare information, contact John Miller for expert advice.

Free Community Concerts
The Skyward Symphony, a community orchestra in Davis County, brings joy and light through free concerts. Directed by Jonathan Nish, a criminal defense lawyer, the orchestra offers a needed balance to the darker aspects of his profession. The ensemble, which began in 2018 with fewer than 40 musicians, has now grown to over 70. They recently performed a well-attended summer concert featuring music by John Williams. The symphony emphasizes inclusivity and encourages young musicians to join, fostering a love for orchestral music in the community.
