๐ถ Bountiful Music Leaving Bountiful After Years Serving Local Musicians ๐ฅบ
After years of serving students, teachers, and musicians across South Davis County, longtime local shop Bountiful Music announced it will relocate from Bountiful to Kaysville this spring. Owner Tom Clark said rising operating costs made it impossible to stay in its current location, but the business will keep the same name, staff, and core services when it reopens at 150 N. Main Street in Kaysville on June 1.
The storeโs final day in Bountiful will be Saturday, May 23. In comments on the announcement, community members shared memories of buying choir music, renting instruments for school programs, and relying on the shop for music education support over the years. Several residents called the move a major loss for Bountifulโs arts community, while others said they plan to continue supporting the store in its new location.
Clark also confirmed the business will continue operating under the name โBountiful Musicโ despite the move north.
Why It Matters: Bountiful Music has been a longtime resource for local music students, school programs, and families, and its departure highlights the growing pressure rising business costs are putting on small local shops.

๐จ Local Student Artists Recognized at DSD Show
Talented young artists are being celebrated at the Davis School District Show, with several standout student ceramic pieces earning top honors. First place in the High School Ceramics category went to Peyton Winter for This Decadence Upon My Lips, a hand-built box designed to look like a slice of cake. Second place was awarded to Arwyn Sadler for Sole Survivor, a towering textured urn standing over two feet tall, while third place went to Maysen Fox for Citrus Beast, a playful blue-and-orange octopus sculpture full of personality.
The award-winning pieces, along with other student artwork, are currently on display at the Bountiful Davis Art Center through May 8.
๐ Why it matters: Local art programs give students a powerful outlet for creativity, confidence, and self-expression. Showcasing their work publicly not only celebrates their talent and hard work, but also strengthens the connection between schools, young artists, and the community.
๐ญ Special Needs Performers Shine in NSL
South Davis SNAP is presenting a free musical review of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Bountiful Regional Center in North Salt Lake. Performers are adults ages 18 and older from across the special needs spectrum, with shows listed for Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8, both at 7 PM.
Why It Matters: This gives South Davis families a free, feel-good community event while spotlighting local performers and inclusive programs.

โพ Bountiful Rallies Past Skyline
Bountiful battled back from an early deficit to edge Skyline 9-8 in a tight Region 6 showdown. The Redhawks answered Skylineโs big third inning with four runs in the fourth and added the go-ahead runs in the fifth. Tegan Barnes led the charge, going 2-for-4 while also recording two strikeouts on the mound.
โพ Viewmont Falls to Brighton
Viewmont dropped a 6-2 Region 6 matchup after Brighton broke things open with late scoring bursts in the fifth and seventh innings. Kimball Essig drove in the Vikingsโ lone RBI, while Brighton pitcher Mac Gunn racked up 11 strikeouts to keep Viewmontโs offense quiet.

๐ฟYour Body Listens to the Way You
Speak to Yourself
The conversations you have in your own mind matter more than you think. Your body responds to your thoughts, your tone, and the stories you repeat daily.
When your inner dialogue is constantly critical or rushed, your nervous system stays on alert. But when you speak to yourself with compassion, your body softens and begins to feel safe.
โจ Wellness Wisdom:
Notice how you speak to yourself today.
Instead of: โIโm so behind.โ
Try: โIโm doing the best I can right now.โ
Instead of: โI have to do everything.โ
Try: โIโm allowed to rest and ask for support.โ
Healing isnโt only about what you eat or how you move.
Sometimes healing begins with the words you whisper to yourself. ๐
