Pioneer Day Firework Mishap Causes Injuries in Layton

A firework malfunctioned during a Pioneer Day celebration at Andy Adams Park in Layton, causing minor injuries to two people. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when a consumer-grade firework veered into the crowd. Fortunately, a fire prevention inspector and a brush engine were present and quickly assisted the injured. The crowd, mostly positioned safely away from the fireworks, witnessed the explosion captured on video by a local attendee, Adam Cloud. The Utah State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the incident. Fire safety officials emphasized the importance of proper fireworks disposal, especially during the dry season.

Utah Celebrates: 2034 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City will host the 2034 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, marking the second time it has held the event, following the 2002 Winter Olympics. The announcement was made by International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach in Paris, leading to celebrations in Salt Lake City, including fireworks and an Olympic-themed drone show. Utah Governor Spencer Cox and other officials highlighted the state’s readiness to host the games without new venue construction, projecting a significant economic boost for the region. This historic event is expected to bring global attention and economic benefits to Utah.

🎤 Free Summer Concerts in Davis County

Bountiful City’s Music in the Park

Concerts will be held at the Main Stage at the Bountiful City Park: 400 North and 200 West. They take place on Friday evenings at 7PM. There will be food trucks at site at each concert.

Rock the Park at Station Park

This summer you can enjoy local, live entertainment and bands next to the fountains at Station Park. Grab dinner first or bring a picnic from home to eat while you listen. Rock the Park will take place Friday evenings in August. Concert details can be found on their Facebook page!

Concerts on the Hill at Cherry Hill

Concerts take place under the stars every Friday evening on the Lucky 7 stage Cherry Hill's Grants Gultch (1325 South Main Street, Kaysville). Concerts for 2024 will start in June. Click here for details!
