Popular Burger Spot in North Salt Lake Getting a Makeover
A local favorite in North Salt Lake is taking a brief pause to make room for something new. Apollo Burger, known for its hearty burgers and welcoming atmosphere, has temporarily closed its doors for a remodel.
The closure began on December 7 and will run through December 15. While regulars may miss their go-to meals for a short while, the restaurant promises to return with improvements that will enhance the dining experience.
Though details on the remodel haven’t been shared yet, anticipation is building among fans of the popular burger joint. Many are eager to see what changes are in store — and more importantly, to get back to enjoying their favorite burgers once the upgrades are complete.

Farmington Neighborhood Hosts Free Outdoor Live Nativity
A Farmington neighborhood is bringing the spirit of Christmas to life with a free outdoor live nativity on Sunday, December 14, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 1833 W. Buffalo Circle.
The walk-through event will feature live animals from West Farmington and local volunteers recreating the story of the first Christmas. It’s a non-denominational celebration, open to all, designed to unite the community in a peaceful and festive way.
Guests can enjoy complimentary hot cocoa, sponsored by Stephen’s Hot Cocoa of Farmington. With lights, animals, and holiday cheer, the evening promises to be a heartwarming celebration of the season.

$3K Reward Offered After Human Skull Stolen from Ancient Utah Burial Site
A human skull was stolen from an ancient Native American burial site in Sevier County, Utah, prompting an investigation by the Bureau of Land Management. Believed to be over 1,000 years old and linked to the Fremont culture, the site is protected under federal law. A $3,000 reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest, as authorities seek public help to solve the case and protect cultural heritage.

Elite Swimmer from Viewmont Represents Bountiful Area Among Utah’s Best
Viewmont High’s Thomas Chamberlain was named a Minky Couture Star Athlete of the Week after posting Utah’s fastest 200 IM time this season and top-tier marks in five other swim events. The junior from the Bountiful area continues to impress with strong performances and leadership. Other honorees across Utah included standout athletes in basketball, wrestling, and swimming.

🐾 Winter Wellness Kickoff ❄️
As temperatures drop and routines shift, your pet’s nutritional and wellness needs change too. Here’s how to help them stay hydrated, comfortable, and healthy all winter long.
❄️ 1. How Winter Affects Pet Health
• Pets naturally drink less in cold weather, reducing hydration.
• Indoor heating can dry out skin, coats, noses, and paw pads.
• Shorter days may affect energy and routine stability.
• Many pets exercise less, impacting digestion and weight balance.
🍗 2. Why Winter Nutrition Needs Shift
• Higher animal protein supports energy and metabolism in colder months.
• Moisture-rich foods help offset reduced water intake.
• Seasonal changes can affect stool quality and digestion.
• Omega-rich and antioxidant-rich foods support skin, coat, and immune health.
👉 Winter is the perfect time to reassess whether your pet’s diet still fits their needs.
🛡️ 3. Immune Support During Winter
• Temperature swings and dry indoor air create extra immune stress.
• Probiotics strengthen the gut—where 70% of immunity lives.
• Nutrient-dense toppers help fill winter nutritional gaps without changing the main diet.
🐕 4. Easy At-Home Actions
• Add warm broth to meals to boost hydration and appetite.
• Add a daily topper for micronutrients and digestive support.
• Rotate proteins to increase nutrient diversity and maintain interest.
🛍️ Winter Wellness Favorites at Preppy Paws
• Goat Milk – Hydration + probiotics; great warmed in winter.
• Smallbatch Venison Bone Broth – Joint, digestion, and hydration support with natural collagen.
• Green Juju Golden Blend – Anti-inflammatory and immune-supporting whole-food nutrition.
