โœจ Why We Spotlight Local Businesses
At the Bountiful Buzz, we believe strong communities are built by supporting the amazing businesses right here at home. Shopping local keeps dollars in our community, creates local jobs, and helps our neighborhoods thrive. Our Local Spotlights are just one way we love helping you discover (and support!) the incredible businesses that make our area so special. ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Request a Spotlight

๐Ÿšง Centerville Well Temporarily Out of Service

Centerville City announced that the community church well is currently down due to electrical issues as of March 30. The well will remain out of service until repairs are completed, with no timeline yet provided. Residents shared concerns online, noting the wellโ€™s value as a trusted local water source.

Why It Matters: This outage limits access to a popular water source for residents and could increase demand on city water in the short term.

๐Ÿ’ธ Free Tax Help Available in Davis County

The Davis County Health Department is promoting free tax assistance through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. Residents earning $75,000 or less annually can get help filing their taxes at local Davis County locations. To find a site, search โ€œVITAโ€ or โ€œtaxesโ€ on davislinks.org.

Why It Matters: This program can save eligible residents money on tax prep and help ensure filings are done correctly before deadlines.

๐Ÿ—ณ๏ธ Two Local Favorites Up for Best of SLC

Two community-loved businessesโ€”Classy Chassis Beauty and MakMakโ€”have both been nominated for Best of SLC, and voting is now open. Classy Chassis is recognized for its beauty products and service, while MakMak is earning attention in the Thai cuisine category. Residents have until April 2 to show support and help these local favorites take the top spot.

Why It Matters: Supporting these businesses helps spotlight the amazing talent and entrepreneurship coming out of our local community.

๐Ÿ’งFreshwater Found Beneath Great Salt Lake

Researchers from the University of Utah have discovered a large freshwater reservoir sitting beneath the Great Salt Lake. The water is trapped in underground sediments and could help scientists better understand how the lake is changing. Early findings suggest it may play a role in stabilizing salinity levels over time. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Read more

Why It Matters: This discovery could influence how we manage the lakeโ€™s futureโ€”impacting air quality, wildlife, and the long-term health of our region.

โ›ณ Local High School Golfers Climb the Leaderboard in Region 6

Davis County athletes are making a strong showing in Region 6 girls golf, led by standout performances from Woods Cross High School, Bountiful High School, and Viewmont High School. Top local golfers include Tess Poulson and Vivian Oaks (Woods Cross), Cambria Ohlson (Bountiful), and Viewmontโ€™s squad competing hard in a deep field. Additional contributors like MaKenzie Pearson (Woods Cross) continue to boost team scores as the season progresses.

Why It Matters: These student-athletes are putting Davis County on the map and building momentum heading into the postseason. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Read more

๐ŸŒฟ Protect Your Energy

Not everything that drains you is obvious. Sometimes itโ€™s the conversations, the constant notifications, or even the pressure to always be โ€œon.โ€ Your energy is one of your most valuable resourcesโ€”how you protect it matters.

โœจ Wellness Tip:
Create one simple boundary today:
Turn off notifications for an hour, step away from social media, or say โ€œnoโ€ to something that doesnโ€™t feel aligned.

Pay attention to how your body responds.
More calm? More clarity? More you?

Protecting your energy isnโ€™t selfishโ€”
itโ€™s how you show up as your best self for everything that matters. ๐Ÿ’œ
