Farmington Explores Possibility of Restoring Century-Old Building
Farmington residents are debating the restoration of a 100-year-old building downtown, currently hidden behind a metal facade. Recent efforts revealed the original structure, prompting discussions about funding and preservation. While many are excited about the possibility of restoring the building, concerns remain over costs and the use of public funds.

North Salt Lake's Big Bite Breads Bakery Now Open Near Kangaroo Zoo
Big Bite Breads, a new bakery specializing in fresh bread and baked goods, celebrated its grand opening today in the Foxboro community of North Salt Lake, Utah. Located near Kangaroo Zoo, off Redwood Road, the bakery impressed attendees with its signature cinnamon rolls, garlic rolls, and a variety of other fresh rolls. The event featured vibrant decorations by Lunar Bliss, which set up eye-catching balloon displays to mark the occasion. Residents are excited to have this new bakery in their neighborhood, promising a unique and flavorful addition to local dining options.

π’ Davis County Faces New Challenges After Homeless Shelter Plan Fails
Switchpoint, a company focused on helping the homeless, withdrew its bid to buy a property in North Salt Lake's Foxboro neighborhood after strong opposition from residents and the city. The property was considered for a year-round homeless shelter, a requirement under a 2023 state bill. Despite support for addressing homelessness, local officials argued the location wasn't suitable. Now, Davis County must restart the search for a new site, as homelessness remains a pressing issue. The county's task force continues to explore other options.

π Vikings Rally in Second Half to Claim Double OT Victory
The Viewmont Vikings football team remains undefeated after a thrilling 33-27 double-overtime victory against Bountiful. Despite trailing 27-13 at halftime, Viewmont's defense tightened, and quarterback Titan Longson led a comeback, tying the game with a late two-point conversion. Longson contributed two rushing touchdowns and threw for 303 yards, with Drez Jensen catching 160 of those. The win brings Viewmont to 4-0. Bountifulβs quarterback Emerson Geilman threw for 253 yards, but their second-half offense stalled. Viewmont now prepares to face Northridge next.
π Woods Cross and Bountiful Volleyball Teams Shine at UVU Invitational
The Woods Cross and Bountiful High volleyball teams excelled at the Utah Valley Invitational Tournament, both finishing with 5-1 records. Woods Cross, led by standout players like sophomore setter Zamari Christensen and junior outside hitter Avery Poulton, dominated their matches. Bountiful also performed impressively, sweeping Box Elder and winning key matches during the tournament. The Viewmont and Farmington teams had mixed results, while Davis managed one win over Wasatch. Each team demonstrated potential with standout performances as the season progresses.
