Parents Encouraged to Volunteer at Davis Schools This Year
The Davis School District is encouraging parents and community members to play an active role in their children's education by volunteering at local schools. With a wide range of opportunities available, from classroom assistance to organizing school events, the district is welcoming volunteers who can contribute time and effort to support the success of students and teachers.
Volunteering offers a chance to make a significant impact, whether you have just a few hours or more time to dedicate. The district emphasizes that every bit of involvement helps create a more positive and enriching educational environment. To ensure student safety, all volunteers are required to undergo a background check and obtain approval from school administrators before starting their duties.
Parents and community members interested in volunteering are encouraged to visit their school's website for more information on how they can get involved.
The Davis School District believes that strong community engagement is essential for fostering educational success, and they are eager to see more parents and volunteers joining their efforts this school year.

π Farmington Shows Spirit Despite Defeat in Season Kickoff
The Farmington Phoenix faced a tough start to their football season, falling 38-14 against Roy. Despite a determined effort, the Phoenix struggled to overcome Roy's early defensive dominance, which saw them trailing 21-0 by the first quarter. Farmington found some rhythm in the second half, including a late touchdown, but it wasn't enough to close the gap. The team will need to regroup as they prepare for their next challenge.
π Wildcats Start Strong with 21-9 Triumph Against West Jordan
Woods Cross Wildcats kicked off their season with an impressive 21-9 win against West Jordan. The Wildcats took an early lead when Reece Hammond dashed into the end zone with a 12-yard run late in the first quarter. Their momentum continued in the second quarter as Eli Bodell made a spectacular 63-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Jesse Simmons. West Jordan tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, narrowing the gap with an 8-yard touchdown run by Giovonni Polanco with just over five minutes remaining. However, Woods Cross secured their victory when Viliami Tapa'atoutai broke free for a 67-yard touchdown run early in the final quarter.
π Redhawks Soar to 27-9 Victory Over Herriman
The Bountiful Redhawks began their season with a commanding 27-9 victory over the Herriman Mustangs. Herriman struck first with a stunning 80-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Benson to Taylor Hatch just 12 seconds into the game. However, Bountiful quickly responded, gradually taking control with two field goals from Landon Zayas and touchdowns from Siaki Fekitoa. The Redhawks dominated the second and third quarters, breaking the game open with a 74-yard touchdown pass from Emerson Geilman to Britton Tidwell. Bountifulβs defense held firm in the second half, shutting out Herriman and securing the win.
π Viewmont Vikings Crush Skyline 46-0 in Season Opener
Viewmont Vikings started their season with a commanding 46-0 victory over Skyline in a lopsided contest. Quarterback Titan Longson led the charge with an outstanding performance, passing for 316 yards and five touchdowns while also scoring on the ground. The Vikings' defense was equally dominant, highlighted by Jackson Nuttall's 23-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Key contributions on offense included a 60-yard touchdown catch by Ryan Tillman late in the third quarter and a 36-yard touchdown reception by Kingston Mickens just before halftime. By halftime, Viewmont had already built a 28-0 lead, effectively putting the game out of reach. Skylineβs offense struggled throughout the game, unable to break through the Vikingsβ staunch defense.
