π£ Today, weβre shining a special spotlight on one of Davis Countyβs hidden gemsβthe Skyward Symphony. This isnβt just any local group; itβs a vibrant community of musicians who are making a big impact through the power of music.
Skyward Symphony began in March 2018 with a simple mission: to bring people together through music. What started as a collaborative project for a local church production has since grown into a beloved independent orchestra thatβs capturing hearts and minds all around Davis County.
The orchestraβs philosophy is inspired by the timeless words of Plato: βMusic gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.β With this belief at its core, Skyward Symphony is committed to creating performances that uplift and unite both musicians and audiences.

Under the leadership of Music Director Jonathan T. Nish and Concertmaster Sarah Pehrson, Skyward Symphony has become a welcoming space where musicians of all ages and experience levels can come together to share their love of music. Their concerts feature an exciting mix of classical pieces, show tunes, and movie themes, ensuring that thereβs something for everyone to enjoy.
But Skyward Symphony is about more than just great musicβitβs about building connections and fostering a sense of community. The orchestra is dedicated to values like respect, integrity, and personal growth, making it a place where musicians can grow both personally and creatively. Itβs a place where everyone is valued, and where the joy of making music is shared with the entire community.

As Skyward Symphony continues to grow, theyβre always welcoming new members to join their musical family. If youβve got a passion for music and are looking for a place to connect with others, Skyward Symphony would love to have you. Itβs easy to joinβjust fill out a form on their website and get ready to be part of something truly special.
We hope youβll take the opportunity to experience Skyward Symphony for yourself. Whether youβre in the audience or on stage, youβll see firsthand how this wonderful group is bringing our community together through the magic of music.

Bountiful City Temporarily Shuts Down Town Square Water Feature Due to Dog Incident
Bountiful City temporarily shut down the Town Square water feature after a dog was found in the water, violating city rules. The water feature was closed for testing and has since reopened. A city councilwoman reminded residents to follow park regulations and keep dogs out of restricted areas to ensure community safety and enjoyment.

Residents in Wildfire-Prone Areas Learn Crucial Safety Measures
Davis County's Emergency Management and the Division of Natural Resources held wildfire town hall meetings to help residents in high-risk areas prepare. The meetings highlighted the importance of understanding wildfire evacuation zones, signing up for emergency alerts, and making homes more resilient to wildfires. Local officials emphasized community cooperation and provided resources for home-hardening against wildfire risks. The sessions aimed to ensure that residents are better equipped to respond swiftly and safely in case of a fire.

Authorities Rescue Group of Tubers Stranded on Provo River
A group of about a dozen people stranded while tubing on the Provo River was rescued by first responders on Saturday afternoon. The group became stuck on a sandbar near Vivian Park around 2:45 p.m. due to worsening water conditions. Among them was Stephen Collins, who described how his group sought refuge on the sandbar after struggling with the river's depth. The Utah County Sheriff's Office, alongside local fire crews, quickly responded, using swiftwater rescue equipment to bring everyone to safety. Officials emphasized the importance of calling for help in such situations and urged people to be prepared and cautious when engaging in recreational activities.

Medicare Beware: Check Your Statements
Medicare Monday Tip: Protect yourself from fraud by regularly reviewing your Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
Key Points:
- Spot Errors Early: Carefully review your MSNs and EOBs to catch any charges for services or items you didnβt receive. Errors or unauthorized charges can indicate fraud.
- What to Look For: Watch for unfamiliar provider names, dates of service, or charges that donβt match your records. Even small discrepancies should be investigated.
- Take Action: If you spot anything suspicious, contact your healthcare provider or Medicare immediately. Report potential fraud by calling 1-800-MEDICARE.
Stay Vigilant:
Regularly checking your statements is a simple yet effective way to protect your Medicare benefits. For more guidance on safeguarding your Medicare information, contact John Miller for expert advice.
