Concerts, Competitions, and Carnival Fun Await at the 2024 Utah State Fair

The Utah State Fair is back, running from September 5 to 15, 2024, and promises an exciting lineup of entertainment, food, and activities for all ages. Visitors can look forward to classic fair favorites like carnival rides, livestock exhibits, and art showcases, alongside special events like the "Fair Food Fight," where food vendors compete to crown the best sweet and savory dishes. Live concerts, including performances by artists like John Fogerty and the All-American Rejects, are also part of the fair's vibrant schedule.

In addition to fun attractions, the fair is known for its diverse food options. Fairgoers can indulge in traditional treats like funnel cakes and turkey legs, or try more adventurous offerings like bacon-wrapped delicacies. For families, kid-friendly events include the "Little Hands on the Farm" and animal exhibits.

Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Truck from EOS Parking Lot Incident

The Bountiful City Police Department is seeking assistance from the public in identifying the occupants of a white Chevrolet Silverado involved in a road rage incident. The truck, which has a rack over the bed, was captured on camera in the EOS parking lot, though the image is unclear due to the vehicle's distance. Authorities are asking anyone who may have information related to the vehicle or its occupants to contact them at 801-298-6000.

North Salt Lake Residents Reject Proposed Permanent Shelter Plan

Residents of North Salt Lake have voiced strong opposition to a proposed permanent emergency shelter in the city's Foxboro neighborhood. At a packed City Council meeting, many residents expressed frustration over a perceived lack of transparency and concerns about the shelter's proximity to schools and families. While acknowledging the need for homeless services, some argued that the shelter would serve as overflow for nearby Salt Lake County, urging alternative locations. The City Council unanimously passed a resolution opposing the shelter, with future discussions still pending.

🏃🏻‍♂️ Local High Schools Prepare for Cross Country Season Kickoff

Local cross country teams are kicking off their season, with Bountiful, Davis, Farmington, Viewmont, and Woods Cross all preparing for upcoming meets. Each school boasts returning talent and promising newcomers. Bountiful’s boys are led by Hayden Hooper and Simon Barlow, while standout runners like Skye Siddoway of Farmington's girls team have impressive recent records. The season will culminate in region championships in mid-October, leading up to the state meet at Sugarhouse Park in Salt Lake City on October 30.
