Earthquake Rattles Wasatch Front; No Damage Reported

A 4.7-magnitude earthquake shook northern Utah early Thursday morning, with tremors felt from Logan to Provo. The quake struck at 7:49 a.m., centered about 25 miles south of Evanston, Wyoming, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Residents in cities like West Bountiful, Farmington, Ogden, and Salt Lake City reported shaking furniture and startled pets. In offices near the University of Utah, workers noticed their chairs and monitors moving during the brief jolt.

Despite widespread reports of shaking, no injuries or damage have been reported. The USGS warns there’s a 57% chance of a magnitude 3.0 or greater aftershock within the next seven days.

Davis County Man Arrested in Hidden Camera Investigation

A 26-year-old Davis County man has been arrested and is facing charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and voyeurism after investigators say he secretly recorded members of his family using a hidden camera inside their home.

According to the Davis County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began in August after a report to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to a Davis County residence. On Wednesday, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at the home.

Investigators say the man admitted to downloading and viewing child sexual abuse material and to placing a hidden camera inside an adult family member’s bedroom. A search of the camera, along with the man’s phone and computer, allegedly revealed illegal files and recorded video.

The man is being held without bail. The investigation is ongoing.

❄️ Maybe We’re Finally Going to Get some Snow?
— Winter Storm to Hit Utah with Heavy Snow, Wind, and Travel Disruptions

A major winter storm is moving across the U.S., triggering weather alerts for nearly half the population. In Utah, heavy snowfall and strong winds are expected through Tuesday, with travel impacts likely across the Wasatch Front and mountain regions. Winter Storm Warnings are in effect.

🏀 Boys Basketball - Farmington Pulls Away Late to Top Syracuse in Region 1 Clash

Farmington surged past Syracuse with an 80-66 win in Region 1 play, thanks to a dominant fourth quarter where the Phoenix posted 28 points to close out the game strong. The offensive push was fueled by a trio of standout performances. Leading the charge was Malakai Tobler, who dropped 22 points, including four shots from beyond the arc. Close behind was Isaac Anderson with 21 points and five 3-pointers, adding critical momentum from long range.

Brycen Rudolph also made a significant impact, scoring 17 points and knocking down three 3-pointers of his own, helping maintain Farmington's lead throughout the second half. Despite a strong showing from Syracuse's Carter Robinson, who recorded a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds, the Titans were unable to match Farmington’s late-game firepower.

The win strengthens Farmington’s position in the Region 1 standings as they continue to build momentum heading into the season’s later stages..
