Indoor Pickleball Courts Coming Soon to Salt Lake, Weber, and Utah Counties
Salt Lake City is set to welcome its first large-scale indoor pickleball facility later this year. The Utah-based franchise, The Picklr, announced three new locations in Utah, including Salt Lake City, Weber County, and Utah County, which will open over the next six months. Each facility will feature at least eight indoor courts, a pro shop, private event space, unlimited league play, tournaments, and open play. The Salt Lake City location is slated for an early fall opening, with Farr West and Lehi locations following in late fall. Co-founded in 2021 by two Ogden high school friends, The Picklr has rapidly expanded nationwide with over 300 locations. Despite its growth, the company remains committed to its Utah roots, attributing the state's significant role in popularizing pickleball nationwide. The new indoor courts aim to address the limitations of outdoor courts and meet the growing demand for pickleball in Utah.

Officer Hill Prevents Wrongful Arrest, Earns Employee of the Month
Officer Hill of the Woods Cross Police Department was named Employee of the Month for May for preventing a wrongful arrest. On April 28, 2024, she verified a suspect's claims of no outstanding warrants, discovering a mistake in identity. Her diligence ensured the suspect was promptly released, highlighting her commitment to justice.

Appreciation Week for West Bountiful's Hardworking Public Works Crew
This week, West Bountiful City honors the hard work and dedication of our Public Works Department. Their efforts in snow plowing, fixing water leaks, and maintaining our city infrastructure ensure everything runs smoothly and safely. Let's show our appreciation for this amazing team!

Viewmont Teacher and Coach Celebrated with Teacher of the Year Award
Andru Jones, a dedicated football coach and special education teacher at Viewmont High School, has been named Davis School District's Teacher of the Year. Jones, who has been teaching since 2008 and joined Viewmont two years ago, was honored at a surprise assembly where he received the keys to a new car from Young Kia for a year. Known for his humility, strategic mind, and commitment to students, Jones has significantly contributed to Unified Sports and community activities, embodying his philosophy of love and dedication in education and coaching.
