Penny Ann’s Expands Again as Co-Owner Prepares to Say "I Do"

Bountiful’s beloved breakfast and brunch spot, Penny Ann’s Café, is entering an exciting new chapter. The family-owned establishment has officially announced plans to open a new location on Union Park Avenue, aiming to welcome guests just in time for the holiday season.

Renovations are set to begin shortly as the team works to bring the cozy, welcoming atmosphere of Penny Ann’s to its newest home. Known for its hearty comfort food and family-friendly service, the expansion marks another milestone for the growing business.

In addition to the expansion news, the Penny Ann’s family has another reason to celebrate. One of the café’s co-owners, Cindy Lou, is preparing to tie the knot this Thursday, adding a joyful personal milestone to an already exciting week for the team.

With both a new location and a wedding on the horizon, there’s plenty of reason for celebration at Penny Ann’s Café.

🏈 Fremont Stuns Davis with 21-Point Comeback in Overtime Victory

Fremont High overcame a 21-point deficit to defeat rival Davis High 45-44 in an overtime thriller. After a dominant start by Davis, Fremont battled back to tie the game and forced overtime. A missed extra point by Davis gave Fremont the opportunity to win with a successful extra point following their own overtime touchdown, clinching the comeback victory in their Region 1 opener.

Exercise for Your Dog: How Much, What Kind, and How to Start

When kids head back to school and schedules shift, many dogs end up with extra energy—and that energy has to go somewhere. The right mix of movement and mental work keeps bodies healthy, lowers stress, and reduces problem behaviors at home. Here’s a practical guide for Bountiful dog families.

How much exercise does my dog need?

  • Adults: Aim for 45–90 minutes daily, split into two sessions. Mix walking with short bursts of purposeful work (sniffing games, fetch with rules, simple conditioning).

  • Puppies: Keep it short and varied—gentle walks and play with lots of sniffing and rest. Avoid repetitive, high-impact activities (long runs, endless fetch, stairs).

  • Seniors: Little and often. Short, frequent strolls plus gentle strength/balance work to maintain mobility.

  • High-octane breeds/mixes: Add brain work—scent games, problem-solving, and training games count as “exercise” because they tire the brain.

Rule of thumb: If your dog is still wild after a walk, add brain work; if they’re mentally wired but physically restless, add steady movement.

Safety first

  • Heat & air: If pavement is hot to the touch or air quality is poor, do indoor sniff/brain games instead.

  • Leash & gear: Use a 6-ft leash (no retractables for group walks), a well-fitted harness, and bring water.

  • Red flags: Slowing behind you, lagging, excessive panting, limping, or glazed eyes—stop, rest, and shorten next time.
