Farmington Historical Museum Leads Hike to Native American Heritage Sites
Farmington, UT β The Farmington Historical Museum is partnering with the Farmington Parks and Recreation to host a unique hiking event on April 25 at 6:30 PM. Participants will gather at the upper dirt parking lot of Farmington Pond to embark on a journey led by local tour guides, Charlotte Packer and Tia Trevino.
The hike will lead to the gravesite of a notable Goshute/Shoshone Indian Princess, daughter of Chief Little Soldier. Located in the northern foothills, the site is not only a historical landmark but also a poignant reminder of the areaβs indigenous heritage. The hike is part of a broader initiative this April by the Davis County Museums to honor the Indigenous presence in early Davis County history.

Utah's Young Filmmakers Shine at Tumbleweeds Kids Film Festival
In Utah, the Tumbleweeds Film Festival for Kids is inspiring young filmmakers by providing a platform to showcase their skills and creativity. The festival, organized by the Utah Film Center and the Utah Education Network, recently held its second annual event at the Viridian Events Center in West Jordan. The festival features films from students in kindergarten through eighth grade, covering a range of genres. This year, over 50 students participated, including brothers Truman and Beau Beck, who explored family themes in their films. The event not only encourages artistic expression but also teaches valuable skills such as media literacy and critical thinking.

Welcome to βMedicare Mondayβ
Brought to you by John Miller, your Medicare Specialist.
βMedicare Bewareβ Weekly Expert Tip:
Medicare Beware: Stand Firm Against Pressure Tactics
In this installment of our Medicare Beware series, we address a troubling tactic some unscrupulous entities might useβpressure and threats regarding your benefits. It's essential to know your rights and how to safeguard them.
Key Insights:
- Your Benefits Are Secure: Remember, if you are eligible for Medicare benefits, these cannot be abruptly taken away. No legitimate entity will threaten to remove your benefits simply because you hesitate or decide against signing up for a specific plan.
- Recognize Pressure Tactics: Be wary of anyone insisting you must act quickly to secure your benefits or face dire consequences. These high-pressure strategies are designed to provoke anxiety and rush your decision-making process.
- Stay Informed, Stay Calm: When faced with such tactics, take a step back and assess the information calmly. You have the right to consider your options without harassment or coercion.
Feeling unsure or pressured? Itβs important not to navigate these situations alone.
Contact John Miller for trusted guidance and support. John can help you understand your Medicare rights and options, ensuring you make decisions that best suit your needs without undue stress.
