North Salt Lake Community Pantry Reopens with Food and Vaccines

After a brief pause, the North Salt Lake Community Pantry is set to reopen tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., ready to support local families with food assistance. Supplies will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and organizers encourage anyone in need to stop by while items last.

In addition to food support, Davis County Health will be on-site with their mobile health bus. Families can access a variety of vaccines, including those required for school enrollment. Those with insurance are asked to bring their insurance cards, but services will still be provided to those without coverage.

For those unable to attend this pantry event, the next distribution is scheduled for July 31. Community members are encouraged to mark their calendars and reach out if they need help during these challenging times.

North Salt Lake Gears Up for National Night Out on July 31

Local residents are invited to mark their calendars for an exciting evening at Legacy Park on July 31. Hosted by the North Salt Lake Police Department in partnership with the city's Health and Wellness team, the event is part of the annual National Night Out celebration—a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

The event promises fun for all ages, with activities, informational booths, and opportunities to connect with local officers and city representatives. Whether you're there for the family-friendly fun or just want to support your community, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

🚧 Centerville Water Main Break Floods Road, Disrupts Service to 75 Homes

A burst water main in Centerville flooded a major road with 1.8 million gallons of water, damaging the street and cutting off service to 75 homes for several hours. While water has been restored and deemed safe, discolored water was reported. Road repairs are underway and expected to be completed by week’s end.

Foster Families Help Ease Overcrowding at Davis County Animal Shelter

Animal Care of Davis County (ACDC) in Fruit Heights is currently caring for over 300 dogs and cats, with about half placed in foster homes to relieve overcrowding at the shelter. Taking in around 4,500 animals each year, ACDC relies heavily on its foster program, especially during the busy summer months when stray animals increase.

The foster program is flexible, allowing people to care for animals anywhere from a day to several months. Options include short-term stays like “Weekend Wags” and “Sniff About,” or long-term fostering until adoption. All foster pets can return to the shelter if needed, ensuring they always have a place to go.

ACDC also welcomes volunteers to walk dogs, play with cats, and enrich animals’ lives. A new facility is under construction on the current property to improve care for both animals and staff.

To foster or volunteer, visit daviscountyutah.gov/animalcare.
