Bountiful City Plans August 17 Power Outage for Major Pole Replacement

Bountiful City will conduct a planned power outage on Sunday, August 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to allow crews to replace two major infrastructure poles. Residents in the designated outage zone will be without electricity for the entire duration. Surrounding neighborhoods will experience two brief interruptions, each lasting about two minutes—once at the start and again at the end of the maintenance period. City officials say the work is part of ongoing upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of the power system.

Community Puzzle Challenge Runs from North Salt Lake to Centerville

Visitors to the Bountiful City Police Department lobby may have noticed a large game board on display. It’s part of a new South Davis Communities That Care challenge, inviting residents to take part in a life-sized scavenger hunt running from North Salt Lake to Centerville.

Participants can follow four simple steps:

1. Follow South Davis Communities That Care on Instagram to receive clues for the location of four game pieces.

2. Visit each location to find a top-secret code word on the game piece.

3. Collect all four code words.

4. Submit the completed set through a Google form linked in the group’s Instagram bio to enter a prize raffle.

The event aims to encourage community engagement and add a bit of puzzle-solving fun to the summer season.

Search Underway for Endangered Juvenile Last Seen August 9

Authorities in West Bountiful, Utah, are asking for the public’s help to find 17-year-old Charlotte Sterling, who has been reported missing since the evening of August 9, 2025. Charlotte was last seen at 9:52 p.m. after telling her mother she was going for a walk, but she never returned home.
Officials say she has a medical condition that requires regular medication and may need urgent care. At the time of her disappearance, Charlotte was wearing gray sweatpants, a black shirt, and a gray sweater. Her family and police are deeply concerned for her safety.
Anyone who has seen Charlotte or has information about her location is urged to contact the West Bountiful Police Department at 801-292-4487.
