Heartbreak in Farmington as Community Rallies Around Leonard Family
A devastating accident has left the Farmington community in mourning. On September 5th, local teenager Connor Leonard tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while riding his e-bike.
Connor, the eldest of his siblings, was known for his adventurous spirit, bright smile, and kind heart. He had a gift for bringing joy to others and was a beloved friend, brother, and son. His passing has deeply impacted those who knew him, as well as the broader community.
The Leonard family, cherished by many in Farmington, is now facing unimaginable grief. In response, neighbors and friends have come together to offer support through prayers, messages of comfort, and financial contributions.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help cover funeral expenses and provide the family with space to grieve without financial strain. Community members are encouraged to donate and share the fundraiser.
To support the Leonard family, visit the GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/rally-for-the-leonard-family-after-connors-passing
Even the smallest contributions make a difference. Above all, the family is grateful for the outpouring of love during this difficult time.

From Butter Cows to Monster Trucks: Utahโs Biggest Celebration Is Back
The Utah State Fair is well underway an runs until September 14th, bringing entertainment, tradition, and delicious food to the Utah State Fairpark. This beloved annual event blends high-energy attractions with a celebration of the stateโs heritage.
Fairgoers can indulge in classic treats like corn dogs, deep-fried desserts, and giant turkey legs, alongside farm-fresh goods from local vendors. Stages come alive with live music, cultural performances, and thrilling events like rodeos, monster trucks, and the demolition derby. Carnival rides and games add extra excitement for all ages.
Visitors can also explore livestock shows, art and quilt exhibits, and 4-H displays, all highlighting Utahโs agricultural roots. Unique features like the butter cow sculpture bring a whimsical touch to the fairโs tribute to creativity and craftsmanship.
Whether it's your first visit or a family tradition, the Utah State Fair offers a vibrant mix of fun, flavor, and community connectionโan experience truly found nowhere else.

๐ป Utahโs Roadless Forests Could Soon Be Opened to Development
A federal rule that has protected Utahโs wild forestland for more than two decades is now under reviewโand nearly 4 million acres could lose those safeguards.
The Roadless Rule, established in 2001, restricts road building and logging on undeveloped national forest areas across the U.S., including large portions of the Wasatch and Uinta Mountains. These lands are not just scenicโthey provide clean water, wildlife habitat, and recreation opportunities.
The U.S. Forest Service is considering repealing the rule in Utah, which could lead to new roads, increased wildfire risk, and ecosystem disruption. Supporters of repeal argue that better access could help rural economies and fire response.
Public comments are open through September 19, with a final decision expected in 2026. Utahns are encouraged to share their thoughts via the Forest Serviceโs website before the window closes.

๐ Morgan Outlasts Bountiful in Showdown of Reigning State Champions
In a rare early-season clash between reigning state champions, Morgan High emerged victorious over Bountiful with a hard-fought 21-13 win on Friday night. The 3A titleholders went toe-to-toe with the reigning 5A champs in Bountiful, proving that size of classification doesnโt always determine outcome.
Bountiful opened strong, taking an early 7-0 lead. But Morgan responded in the second quarter with a short touchdown run, leveling the game at halftime. The Trojans gained momentum in the third quarter as a 20-yard touchdown pass put them in front.
Bountiful answered with a touchdown of their own early in the final quarter, but a missed extra point left them trailing by one. Morgan capitalized, adding another touchdown through the air to extend their lead to eight points, where it would stay until the final whistle.
Morgan's quarterback delivered an efficient performance, throwing for 182 yards and two touchdowns. The receiving corps and defense also stepped up, with key interceptions and a forced fumble helping to seal the win.
The victory moves Morgan to 2-1 on the season and delivers a statement that their championship form is carrying into the new year โ no matter who they line up against.

Cats Need Moisture Too โ
Why Hydration Matters in Feline Diets
Cats have unique dietary needs, and one of the most important is hydration. In the wild, cats get most of their water from the prey they eat. Domestic cats often donโt drink enough water on their own, which can lead to dehydration, urinary tract issues, or kidney disease if their diet relies too heavily on dry kibble.
Why Moisture Matters
โข Supports kidney function and flushes toxins.
โข Prevents urinary tract infections and crystals.
โข Aids in digestion and healthy weight management.
โข Promotes shiny coats and steady energy.
Options for Cat Parents
โข Wet food and pouches for everyday feeding.
โข Raw food diets that mimic natural prey moisture levels.
โข Goat milk or bone broth toppers for extra hydration.
