Community Unites for Cancer-Stricken Father at Bountiful Elk Fundraiser Dance
The Bountiful community is coming together for a cause close to their hearts. The upcoming Bountiful Elk Fundraiser Dance aims to support a local family facing a challenging time. The event is scheduled for August 24th, 2024, from 6:00 to 10:00 pm at 544 West 400 North, West Bountiful. Entry is $10 per person.
This family-friendly event promises a night of fun. Local children have been busy crafting bracelets to sell, adding a personal touch to the fundraising efforts. Attendees can look forward to delicious food, an energetic DJ, and an array of exciting raffle items. Organizers are still seeking additional raffle donations and welcome any contributions from the community.
The fundraiser is in honor of a father of seven recently diagnosed with cancer. The family is grappling with significant medical expenses and lost income, and the communityโs support is crucial.
For those unable to attend but still wishing to contribute, donations are being accepted. Interested donors or those with questions can reach out to Sara at 801-698-5738, Serena at 505-709-8535, or Shannon at 801-898-0891.

Lost Wedding Ring Found After Two-Week Search on Farmington Trail
A community of strangers came together to help Lindsey Olsen, who lost her wedding ring while participating in the Utah Treasure Hunt on the Farmington Canyon trail. Olsen, who was hiking with her three-year-old son, removed her ring to prevent it from getting stuck on her swollen fingers but lost it during the hike. After realizing the loss, she shared her story on social media, prompting numerous people to assist in the search with metal detectors. Two weeks later, a woman found the ring and, after some communication, returned it to Olsen. Grateful for the kindness shown, Olsen plans to pay it forward.

Centerville Police Chief Paul Child Retires After Four Decades of Service
After 41 years of dedicated service, Centerville Police Chief Paul Child has retired. Starting his career in 1983 as a reserve officer and volunteer firefighter, Child quickly found his passion for law enforcement during the catastrophic floods of that year. Rising through the ranks, he maintained a hands-on approach, often working shifts alongside his officers even after moving to an administrative role in 2002. Known for his compassionate enforcement, Child fostered a strong community connection. As he steps down, Lt. Allen Ackerson, who has worked closely with Child, takes over, aiming to continue Child's legacy while embracing new technological advancements in policing.

Closing of All American Sheds & Garages
Bountiful Location
All American Sheds & Garages has announced that they will be closing their doors. This decision was made by their corporate headquarters due to the challenging economy and lagging sales. They have a 30-day window to sell as many sheds and garages as possible, offering substantial discounts to their customers.
In addition to sheds and garages, they are also selling almost brand-new office furniture at great prices. The company expressed their gratitude for the support they have received over the past year and described their journey as fun and interesting.
For those interested in purchasing sheds or office furniture, please contact All American Sheds & Garages directly at (541) 870-7742.
