Free Workshop at South Davis Rec Center Explores Joint Health and Replacement

If you’re dealing with ongoing knee, hip, or shoulder pain, a free event at the South Davis Recreation Center may offer valuable answers. On Wednesday, November 12 at 6:30 p.m., the center will host “Joint 101,” a workshop designed to help participants understand joint health and when joint replacement might be an option.

The session will explain how to identify signs that surgery could be helpful, what the procedure typically involves, and what recovery looks like. Open to all ages and fitness levels, the workshop is designed to be informative, supportive, and pressure-free.

Held in Meeting Room A, the event is free to attend and offers a great opportunity to gain insight into managing joint discomfort and maintaining long-term mobility.

Kaysville Teen Bikes from Morocco to Singapore, Brings Global Story Home

We always love sharing stories of local people doing incredible things — and this one is truly remarkable.

Haken Anderson, a recent Davis High School graduate from Kaysville, set off on a solo bike ride from Morocco to Singapore on his 18th birthday, June 13th. Nearly six months later, after averaging 100 miles a day and crossing over 30 countries, he’s finally headed home.

His journey wasn’t just about distance — it was about connection. Along the way, Haken experienced the kindness of strangers in places he’d never been, proving that generosity and goodwill can be found all over the world.

Now, he’s ready to share his story.

On December 17th at 7:00 p.m., Haken will speak at the Davis High School auditorium, reflecting on the adventure and the people who made it unforgettable. The event is open to everyone in the community. A virtual option will also be offered at a later date.

It’s a story of endurance, discovery, and the power of human connection — and it all began right here in Kaysville.

🚔 Teen Arrested After Taylorsville Shooting That Injured 14-Year-Old

A 17-year-old has been arrested after a shooting in Taylorsville left a 14-year-old boy injured. The November 1 incident stemmed from a dispute among teens that escalated into violence. The victim is expected to recover, and the suspect has been booked into juvenile detention. Police continue to investigate and encourage community dialogue around conflict resolution.

🏈 Veteran Leadership Fuels No. 13 Utah Utes' Resurgent Season

The 2025 Utah Utes football team, ranked No. 13, has been defined by strong leadership from veteran captains. Their influence has helped turn around a previously struggling team and rebound effectively after tough losses. With a College Football Playoff spot still in reach, Utah is entering a crucial final stretch following a bye week, focusing on health, preparation, and strategic recruiting amid NCAA restrictions. A road matchup with Baylor begins the closing phase of the season.

🐾Wholesome Nutrition in Every Bite 🦴🍂

As we head into the season of comfort food and gratitude, it’s the perfect time to think about what’s going into your pup’s bowl. Just like us, dogs thrive on real, whole-food ingredients — not fillers or artificial additives.

Wholesome nutrition means:
• Real proteins for strong muscles and energy
• Organic veggies packed with antioxidants and fiber
• Healthy fats like coconut or salmon oil for a shiny coat and brain health
• Superfoods such as turmeric, kale, and blueberries to support joints, digestion, and immunity

Adding small, nutrient-rich boosts — like freeze-dried whole food bites or fresh toppers — can make a big difference in your dog’s overall health and happiness.

Because when your dog eats better, they feel better — from the inside out. 💛

🐶 Stop by Preppy Paws to explore wholesome food options that nourish your pup’s body and delight their taste buds this November!
